Awesome cover of an awesome song. When you learn and play Peter's riffs you realize what an incredible musician and creator/composer/writer he was. I just hope he knew it. I'm just using a cheap guitar pedal actually, an RP100 I believe. I have it set to use a fuzz distortion and the distortion is set about halfway so it's not all fuzz. I also have a chorus effect running on the pedal.

i got the boss ds1 but cant quite get it

but i dont even have a bass amp just a really small crappy guitar amp i was looking at an ibanez swx35 would the boss ds1 be enough if i had a good bass amp like that?

Pete used a Boss DS1 for his distortion so it would be the perfect pedal
