Also in Amazon´s web page, there is a CD called "Was Hör ich, Welche Klänge" which contains Arias from Don Giovanni like Fin ch´han dal vino, from Il barbieri si siviglia and Le nozze both sang in German. It also contains the aria Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo from Cosi Fan tutte which it is not included in many of the versions Prey sang.

You can hear all of them for about a minute or so.

here is one else who agrees to you three. he also did sing a fantastic count almaviva. long ago i could admire him singing

ballads from carl loewe. he had such a big radiation!

Is there a recording of Prey singing Almaviva?? I have no doubt, he must have played that part wonderfully. But I have to say that the role of Figaro suits him perfectly.

I would also like to find a recording of him singing Don Giovanni, the main role of course.

it`s an old recording. i think it`s from the 60ies. the singers are

hermann prey, walter berry, hilde güden and anneliese rothenberger and they sing in german. i don`t know, if this recording is still obtainable.

Provable not. Those recordings are very difficult to get here in Argentina. These days I was trying to get a recording of him singing La Traviata (in German) with Fritz Wunderlich

Can you get CDs of the german amazon? Well I don't know how much the shipping cost is but you can find all these recordings there. And this La Traviata is worth all the trouble!

I dont thik Prey ever sang don giovanni, because his voice doesnt fit the role. but he probably sang a very very good leporello or Masetto.

He did sing don giovanni! And I like him, but that's everyone's own opinion. But there's a complete recording of this opera with him as don giovanni by deutsche grammophon with fritz wunderlich if someone is interested. Masetto and Leporello he didn't sing very often, if he did at all. But there are some arias of him as these characters like 'ho capito' which also is very good.

I have to say that you are not the only one. Hermann Prey is also my favourite baritone. What a wonderful voice and at the same time a terrific actor. Magnific!!
