this actually has less to do with color than it does socio-economics. People int he ghetto talk that way, Black Latino White whatever. Upper class people speak more proper because they are educated.
Here's what I don't understand about Lester though. As great of a character as he was, he told McNulty that he needed to get a Life ( it's the shit that happens when you wait for moments that never come) and in season 5 he went right along with McNulty in making up that case. So it seemed to me that maybe Lester didn't have much of a llfe himself.
I think it was target fixation: Freamon was determined to get Marlo and he needed the resources to do it. With the Major Crimes unit almost wiped out, and his retirement coming up, he figured he had nothing to lose.
@iwant2bbuff Yeah, I noticed that, too. If you remember, though, in the third season, Lester was still on Stringer, just not to the same extent as McNulty. Same here. His whole life isn't committed to this. Just one more case. Last one to go out with a bang.
