Nice post. not sure if this still effects computer monitors but magnets near screens cause permanent damage in my experience. Of course youd have to blatantly keep putting it near screen over and over. Maybe thats a thing of the past with CRT monitors but just fyi to anyone using magnets to get screws out near screen.

how much did it cost you for the screen? i have the same computer and love it but my lcd got cracked. i really wanna replace it and maybe upgrade my HDD on this baby i really love this computer. i was thinking of getting a new one but theres nothing like these 2005 laptops running XP i completely love mine.
where did u get the grpahics driver for the graphics card i have the same laptop and i put windows 7 on it but theres no win 7 driver on there website
