I am getting one maybe in a week , so if i buy this one, should i buy some sanwa parts?(Buttons, stick). Because in other videos people said that these sticks broke fastly... or the buttons does not respond..
@ghost3yame A hitbox is a stickless arcade stick (crazy, huh!). It's basically a stick that uses buttons for the directionals instead of the classic stick. It's sorta like playin on a keyboard, in case you're a FPS PC gamer.
To move your character, you use different buttons. Theres left, down, right and a "up" (jump) button below them, just next to the other command buttons. You can google it or visit the TYM forums.
don't buy this stick it has several defects. If you play a lot it will last you like 2 weeks max. If you get it be prepared to mod it with buttons and joysticks and stuff
@VideoVisionary77 check availability in stores. there are stores that still carry it. id advise going on craigslist tho because u can probably get one or a te for a lot less cheaper. im about to buy a te on craigslist for $100.
@CloudyGM i had (and broke) the SE. If i had to do it over i'd go TE. You should be able to find some good deals now. keep in mind that there are other options, like the hori, which might be the better way to go (sorry I'm not as familiar with those, but i've heard good things)
One of the crappiest stick you can get from Mad Catz. It's 70-80 bucks price tag is what it is. The TE Round 1s and 2s are worth their buck and can be customized much easily.
Hey can somebody help me? I got the SF4 TE madcatz fightsick, but i also have a retrocompatible "fat" ps3, and play some games for the PS2 on it, like Guilty Gear, and Capcom vs SNK 2, KOF, etc, and i dont know why but the madcatz arcade stick doesnt work when i want to play this PS2 games on my PS3, is there anything i could do to change it ot somebody know which arcade stick should i get? to play ps2 games on a retrocompatible ps3 D: SORRY BAD ENGLISH.
it will work for all of your arcade games including MVC2.
And the only reason why people say it sucks is because every body compares it to the tournament edition which is simply the best ever.
There are some technical problems with it...but there are tons of videos on youtube exploring your various options. But none of the problems are rediculous
Probably one of the crappiest products madcatz ever made. buttons don't respond when they need to, washer totally fucks up the stick. Don't expect a great joystick if you are planning to get this, you will need to replace all the parts if you plan to play at a responsive level. If you like to throw hadokuns every other second and hit kick and punch sometimes then this stick is perfect for you.
Have you experienced this in a recently purchased stick? from what I've been able to find during research is that the issue with the washer has been resolved.
We need to learn how to appreciate the GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE PRODUCT without looking down on the little disadvantages. The SE stick is wel worth 70 dollars and has MORE PROS than CONS
I just swapped out the buttons and stick but it was great until the buttons stopped working. While I was taking out the stick, I found out that Madcatz hot glued the bolts to the mounting plate. At first, it was great, especially in the first wave.
What defect? it is history for only first batch for few Controllers out of tens of thousands, a inor issue been handled, we are in wave 2 and 3, by Now.
how long have you had your stick??? you must move that joystick like a little girl... cause everybody is complaining about the same thing... then again if you move your joystick like a little girl you might not have the washer move around yet. try really giving that joystick hell and you'll see what I'm talking about. I took the washer out and it works way better... some buttons tend to stick as well...
Yeah I had that horrible washer problem except mine was the stick couldn't detect a direction, not get stuck in one. But overall I really love the stick, and if I wasn't so comfortable with modding it, you can always send it into MadCatz for free repair with free shipping both ways. However, I really wish it didn't come to that. I would have been fine with the stock parts if they worked flawlessly. But if you're having no problems, this stick is great and upgradeable in the future.
dude your a lop khaledmrd is right it was only the first wave that problems the second and third ones are really well built. ive been using sticks for years and i know how to play sf with them of course if you mash the shit out of it its gonna break soon cuz most of these lames buying them are beginners you cant bang the shit out of a stick for months and expect it to work properly think son.
@GalaxYSmokaH4Trilli0 lol it lasted a good 4~5 months of use. By the 3rd month the stick wont be as consistent and sometimes certain directions wont work until you swirl it around to reset it. And few weeks after that the one or two of the buttons will stop working and you gotta replace it with the 2 black ones most sf players dont use. I opened it up and this model is actually designed to break after prolonged time of use. The board that reads the stick input gets scratched and only matter
Very poor quality for 80 bucks ( at the time). Basically a knock-off of the tournament edition one. Would not recommend this to hard players or even casual.
@HwarangOfFaith Thanks for the heads up. I been hearing bad things about them. I've heard that it was only the first batch that breaks down and the last ones they made will last but overall I don't really trust it anymore so i'm probably going to get a Hori stick instead unless there's a better one?
Np man. But I must say, Madcat's TE Fightstick is very nicely made. I've checked the parts and it's not designed to break down like the SE is. It is a authentic full-out Sanwa parts and it is very good quality. I'd recommend!
I suggest you get the old TE as you can practice for a long period of time without cutting your hand. The new TE has the same parts but is a bit edgier i guess. The downside is that it can hurt your hand but it's no biggy.
It's not bad but it's not too fantastic. The pad is very stiff and not so articulate I feel. The button layout is very goood and you can actually do legitimate advanced combos on it but like i said the problem is within the pad that dictates the movement of the characters itself. If it was a ps3/360 analog stick instead of that dumb, thickass pad, it would have been better. But it'll suffice for a casual player that wants to explore the next level.
it's actually $79.99 plus tax... and you forgot to mention the defect all these fightsticks have which is a washer that starts to move around after a while, causing the stick to get stuck in one direction... Mad Catz actually admitted to this defect on their website... other than that i'm modding this baby once I get my Sanwa parts in...
Actually mine did have the moving washer problem... What I did was took the washer out and to be honest with you the stick worked much better... I did void my warranty by doing this but it works out for me because I'm going to swap the parts anyways. Yes I did order the parts from lizardlicks...
