@3adCompany Same thing happend to me, what you do is hit the power button again and hold it and it should do the double beep

It really does work! ps3s are pretty much computers that use ur tv as a monitor,i use mine for everything from downloading movies(not at the ps store),pics,and it does more!

i do exactly what u do but it doesnt work it says connect the controller using a USB cable then press the PS button i already tried with 2 USB but when i press the button the controller lights are flashing but the they fade again

@carney1920 No, but you can do this instead of sending it to sony ..You will need:

- A hair dryer

- A fan - and music and gloves, and possibly a drink

Put your gloves on ,set the music to your song. Get the hair dryer and blow hot air through the vents of yor ps3 system.Put a towel on the ps3, but leave space for the vents Do this for 5- 10 minutes. Drink somting once in a while. The gloves are to protect your skin from burning. After that prosses, Let the fan cool the ps3 the ps3 and BOOM.

I have done this about two times and still I have had no luck. Before I did this only PS3 games would not work, but PS2 and DVDs etc worked perfectly fine. After I used the recovery it refuses to load any disc based games but works fine with anything downloaded from Playstation Network. Is there anything more I can do or should I cut my losses and get a new PS3?

take out your harddrive and start up your ps3. There should be an error. Then shut it off and put harddrive in and reboot

@pendejadafcc Hold down the power button and reset your ps3. That should get the PS3 system back up rather than linux. Then update to the latest version which removes the other OS feature.

If it doesnt work you must be doing something wrong because here is evidence that it does work. Make sure your PS3 is fully turned off at the front and you have 2.50 or above

this helped me a lot cuz i turned my ps3 real fast by using the power switch in the back and it corrupted my hdd and my xmb was gone so thanx to this feature it saved my ps3 and all my data is back :D

This isnt a secret! Its says how to do it right there in the manual.. U can also do something similar to run the cooling fan at double speed to clean out any dust
