Yeah, I knew about the '67 Impala long before. The Impala doesn't need recognition from some show. It is a classic car. Wish I could find a SS with a 427. Personally, I think the 1967 was the greatest model year of the Impala, just by looks. I wish Chevy would bring back the old heavy hitters, fuel economy be damned. I don't think there many cars out there that truly equal a '69-'70 Chevelle, '69 Nova, '68 & '72 Camaro, '67 Impala, and a personal favorite, '68 Biscayne (esp. a two door w/ 427)

The engine used in the Impala is either the 454 LS1 bigblock from the Chevelle or the stock 427 from the Impala SS, the big block's sound is unmistakable.

The 454 engine was an optional on the SS trim, altogether with the manual 4-on-the-floor gearbox.

In 67 there was no 454. That engine is a 427 Block with an other crankshaft.

The 427 was used in the Chevy 427SS which has officially noy "Impala" in its name, and you could order it to every Model you wanted to, even a 4dr Biscayne sedan. (WHAT A SLEEPER)

the other BigBlock was the 396, that was used in every Model. Deans Impala is infact an 327 with automatic, you see him often putting the Column shifting lever in Parking position.

I guess the FX-Guys often re-recorded the sound.

I have a 1967 impala SS automatic. It has a floor shifter. and it sounds like a monster with the stock exhaust. BTW I have seen under the hood of the car on supernatural and it has 427 big block in it

Dean's is a 4 door manual 1967 Impala with a stock engine and original suspension they use jacked up ones with higher powered engines for the stunts in the show

Correct the car in supernatural is a four door but it has a three speed automatic transmission, not a manual. The show may also say that it has the stock 327 V8 but i saw a scene where you get to see what under the hood and that engine is not stock to that car, neither are the exhausts. My guess is it uses a flowmaster.

its not 22ft almost, its actually 214 in. and normally 283 is 195hp if its tuned and all that

you are right, originally the engine has 195 hp, but it has a Holley intake, an Edelbrock carb and a dual exhaust with headers..... I think that engine power has increased a bit. don't know for sure....
