I got a different bug once- I was playing the last lvl of the good campaign and an invincible troll attacked. It killed everything.

Once my tower guards got glitched on a postern like that.

The real bug is that when the Ring Bearer party is half-way into a "town center," you can't manage it any more. They aren't "in" the building yet, and they also aren't really "out" of the building, even though you can see some of the troops outside (like in the first video).

The only way to get control of them back is to destroy the building... a move which could totally ruin your chances of victory instead of increasing them (via capturing the ring).

Basically, there was a bug (see first vid) where one player was trying to capture the ring but for some reason, ONE HORSE from the entourage decided it couldn't enter the town. It kept trying but couldn't enter.

Eventually, the town had to be demolished & a new one built so that the ring could be captured. This vid is from a few minutes later in the same game, showing a successful cap is possible.
