  • Neil makes the kit a machine. Best North American ever!

  • 2 people need a drumstick shoved up their ass.

  • I saw those drumsticks smoking

  • i like when the camera is above him so we can see him hitting the drum heads. you see the speed he plays at. for an amateur drummer, valuable to see this! he has an interesting set up.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. It brings back great memories!

I was there on this night with my best friend and my 15 year-old son (he's a drummer, and HUGE Rush fan). We saw them in San Diego July 2007, and since they didn't go to SD on the second leg, We just HAD to drive to Irvine. Man, what a night! =-)

  • Neil Peart is definitely one of the best, but certainly, Carl Palmer tops them all

  • BEST DRUMMER OF ALL TIME PERIOD.!

  • The man never stops expanding periods, vibes, tempos and sheer volume of space in his work.

  • i think jojo mayer is the modern day Buddy rich

  • fuck all you neil peart haters!!!

  • @bowmant09 chuck norris kills peart haters

  • @bowmant09 Meanwhile there are only 2 dislikes.

  • Well, said....but the debt should not be about who's the best, thats subject to someones taste...i like big brown beavers, you my friend might like big blond beavers but we still love beavers!

  • That show was kick ass!!! I was there

  • as good as all these drummers mentioned are, they all pale in comparison, even Mr. Peart, to the late great Buddy Rich. Drumming for over 70 years, pioneering countless techniques, this is a man who was excelling at drumming before Neil Peart was born, a man Peart IDOLIZES. A man that could play a solo easily as impressive or more impressive with one bass, 4 cymbals, a hi-hat, two toms, and a snare.

  • I'll agree that Buddy Rich was the best ever but Neil is still one of the best drummers ever. I think it would be a tragedy to deny his talent.

  • Nobody...But Nobody's better than Neil! He's leagondary, beyond belief! He is the "Godfather" of your Richardson, Bret Batdorf, and of course Alexandre Pellitier! Think about where it all started...Well before You ever even knew what music & drums were, "my son!" Don't disrespect the Godfather of the drums...Neal Peart! I've seen him many times live, amongst your "others" and he still rules!

  • you guys need to chill....all i said was hes getting older god...i got like 30 messages saying shut the fuck up you wish you could play as could as him.....all i said was hes gettign older..

  • he is still awesome...here in Canada they had a special on him (Rick Mercer Report) and he was totally great...Hey Peart jump on that bike and head up my way sometime!!!

  • juicebox, he is the best drummer and it doesnt matter if he has money or not cause any musician, learning or tourin the world, knows that most drummers will beat on anythin. if he didnt have the money for these drums and cymbols he would probably emprovise and still kick so much ass. I highly doubt you can find anyone who is better than neil

  • carter beauford

  • Yea i can, i still respect neil because alot of my favorite drummers take after him........... but blake richardson is in my opinion better,...... i am a drummer, from experience... yea Blake's stuff is harder to play than Rush

  • Erm ... soo .. harder = better ? you mean .. more complicated ? This is strange point of view. And what the hell ... with music ? I'm trying to say with my broken English that it doesn't matter. Nobody will "think" like Peart and thats the point in my opinion.

  • most likely he didnt pay for his set

people will pay neil just to play on there cymbals and drums

  • he played in califronia? Damn it! ii cant believ i missed it :(

  • awesome looks like hes getting older :(

  • no fucking duh. but he is still a great drummer no matter how old he is

  • Wow holy shit he's getting older? Amazing.

  • how much you think a kit like that costs lol

  • i dont know if somebody answered your question but back in 2007 i saw his replica kit at guitar center in hollywood for a mere 30k

im sure he has extras on his kit here

  • saw them last year, they were great.

I found it funny that the lead singer spoke exactly how he sings in his songs. He was awesome

  • i was at their concert in cincinnati their amazing.

  • I don't know how you could watch this performance and have anything negative to say about it. He's still amazing.

  • hes the modern day buddy. if your gonna beat him your gonna have to buy a HUUUGE kit. learn poly- rhythms, and work the WHOLE thing. G/L and merry x-mas.

  • Yeah. We all are slowin down with age. But there's none better than Peart.

  • lol your a tool Theres a 100 drummers better if not more. Take the blinders off.

  • so true!!! thanks for pointing that out!!!! :D

  • probably not

  • thank you Drew.....us drummers know what we are talking about!

Blake Richardson, bret batdorf, and of course alexandre pellitier are fucking better than Neil

  • hes banging that thing like a bafoon

  • Peart has slowed down with age....

  • FUCK U ALL I WAS AT THIS EXACT SHOW lol

  • soo....jealous!!!

  • Your ego clearly leaves no available space for a bigger kit. I'm sure there's plenty of room in your dreams though, so keep your awesomeness there, where it belongs.

  • ergg I bet this will start a huge argument.

  • lol i know on like every video people have arguments

  • omg this is amazing live... i saw them this year at hershey. I couldnt find a video from the hershey performance :(

  • It's like sex for the ears. Neil Purt is the best drummer alive :)

  • a thousand times better live... saw it in charlotte

  • sweet. me too!

  • this solo is better than the one on Snakes and Arrows Live

  • THE DRUM SOLO OF LIFE!

  • I was there he is f'n amazing,

alex lifeson is also very underrated and geddy lee is quite the bassest

  • UNDERRATED?!?!? The only band in the world to have 23 consecutive gold albums. No one will ever come close to that-EVER!? You must live south of the border as we have known they are the best forever! I have played Neil's parts for over 25 years and now my son went last night in Vancouver and said the same thing Webomk, that Neil hardly broke a sweat. But I have seen Neil much crazier in the old days. He is more organized in his solos now. It's incredible. A must buy is "Anatomy of a drum solo".

  • Hey, I'm south of the border and I have to agree that they are underrated in the United States but in my opinion they are the best group ever in terms of musical talent and longevity. Saw them live in Oklahoma City and the crowd never sat down for the entire performance Amazing energy and sound! Send them back to us anytime!

  • Our son STILL talks about it....best show he has seen to date. And he likes the crazy loud stuff of his era. I am SO glad I was able to send them (I paid for him and his buddy, who is now a lifer). I wish I could have gone with my son, but maybe the next time. Neil sure looks like he has a few years in him, that's for sure

  • you should work on your golf game instead of making videos!

  • wow . go go neil go !!

  • AWESOME KNIGHT!!!

  • I was there too! One of the best concerts I've ever seen. These guys are, hands-down the most talented and underrated rock group ever. I was blown away at how effortless they play their complex music. Neil is God on drums. Also, I love their sense of humor... if you saw the show, you know what I mean.

  • amazing sho! i was there!neil has nvr been better
