You wouldn't think that was a first canter, it was very upright and neat. Most people cling to the horses neck and forget everything, but that was really nice. Well done ^_^
I learnt to canter by myself about 3 weeks after riding cuz z little 11hh pony got firey and took offf into a canter and i sorta was like oh no but after him not stopping for 5 mins i kept him going and got into the rythm myself an now i love the gait and everyone who watches me ride and my instructor says it comes naturally to me but i did take lessons after that first canter to improve bahaha
very good, i did learn to canter when i was 5 but am 2 scared coz fell off and horse stood on my face. really want to try tho but the horse i ride is really fast.
i was haveing riding lessons at a really bad school, noone there learnt to canter untill after a year of trot... Some places hold u back on purpose sadly
@xshineythingsx I go to a riding school were only after six lessons we are already jumping they are fantastic and have helped me make great progress. (I go to a place in wilton called Grovely)

Probably shouldn't learn to canter if you can't get diagonals - in fact nobody has their diagonals right (1:03 I was looking at) :/

My first canter was when i was 4 1/2, with my instructor chasing me because i was on a stubborn pony so my position was rubbish!!

Too old for learning how to canter? How can you say that? I'm 43 and I'm just now learning how to canter correctly. No one is too old to learn!
