Thanks for the comment. i live in Australia, where that's how we spell it. i think we kind of inherited that from the British who settled here. But spelling changes. Maybe in the future we aussies will spell it "tire".

Not really.  That is if your goal is to seperate those two things to go to separate recylcling.

Its not pointless if your point is to get the tire off the rim. I do it all the time for all the old tires on wheels thet seem to accumulate around the shop.

pity it renders the tyre and the rim useless,making it pointless in doing it
