Can you document anywhere how a frequency response up to 40K affects tone at all? Are there any studies showing that people who can hear up to about 16-18K will still notice any kinds of nuance at frequencies above that? If not, sounds like marketing to me, which is to say, if their lips are moving...
leafyP : your computing is correct, but 24bit doesn't mean 24 possible "levels", it means 2^24 "levels" which is i think is more than 16000000 levels (per one probe). You can hear out sounds of 8bit processor (which has 256 levels) on old nintendo video games or old 8bit computers (I mean music for games like S Mario Bros), next you can see CD-Audio quality which is 16-bit, but in studio raw files are often recorded in 24-bit, to avoid lose of quality, while mixing and editing

Multiples of 2. i.e. 2^1=2, 2^2=4, 2^3=8, 2^4=16, 2^5=32. I believe it is impossible to have a 24 bit processor.

Definitely 32-bit, checked the official site. Don't know why he says 24 twice.
