@TotalJargon thanks, glad you like it! I think I started learning programming, a quite basic C programming course, about 15 years ago. I've programmed in some other languages (Java, C++, PHP, C#...) and improved my programming knowledge since then, but I still have tons of things to learn. For example, I started learning directx 9/3D programming just this year.
@binarynonsense oh cool :) so if I focus strictly on games programming I might just be able to achieve something similar to this at around the one year point? I've been learning C++ for just over 2 months now and started using the Allegro library to learn simple 2D graphics a few days ago, there is a video on my channel if you would like to take a look and be a critique ^^
@TotalJargon Yes, it's possible, but you'll have to work hard and don't give up. If you are new to game programming the best thing, in my opinion, is to start making, and finishing, simple games (like tetris, arkanoid...), and trying making something a little more complex each time. If you just try creating your dreamed/very complex game at the beginning you'll probably end up overwhelmed.
@TotalJargon By the way, you don't need to make remakes if you don't want to, those were just examples, but just something similar in complexity. I watched the video of the game you are doing now and it's is a good way to start, just keep at it and finish it , then choose something slightly more complex or add some new functionality that helps you learn something new... and so on :D Starting a game and never finishing it is very common, I do it :), but I think you learn more if you finish things
@binarynonsense thanks :) I've already got it 90% done, just need to add a final score page at the end displaying your score with the top score and save the higher score out of the two to a file ^^
this looks awesome! how many years have you been learning programming?

@binarynonsense well, I've got a lot of oldschool game remakes to do then ;)
