I like this game. My cousin took this to college with him as I bought it for an early christmass present and he and his friends in his dorm love it. since they are in the same place they dont need to worry about the whole well that guy isnt here so we cant play it.Plus they can play it whenever they want since they are living so close to each other.Since in college some more sophisticated come up with really cool names for the cities and other guys not so sophisticated names :P.ps i agree with u
1) possibly needs a standard gaming group to see the world evolving, and understand that their actions have consequencies
2) all this ripping of cards, sticking of icons on the board, my produce a VERY imbalanced world after some games, that we are not willing to play anymore
3) i HATE writting on the board! especially, by a friend that came one day, played a game, win, and then disappeared again for weeks, and left his mark on the game
Is there anything about the evolving world that requires that the board is marked or that components are irrevocably altered?
I've been thinking about how this concept might be used more generally in more traditional Euro games, and I think that it would be more palatable to that community if no components were destroyed or marked when they were removed or changed. A further benefit of this approach is the players could "reset" at any point and begin a new evolution.
@snicholson I'd love to be part at one of these boardgame-nights.... but I'm in italy.... :(

Nice review!
the basic fears of mine, for this game, are:
1) possibly needs a standard gaming group to see the world evolving, and understand that their actions have consequencies
2) all this ripping of cards, sticking of icons on the board, my produce a VERY imbalanced world after some games, that we are not willing to play anymore

@manolios I don't think this is the game for you! There are many other game choices that will avoid these problems.
