Yeah its pretty ridiculous considering most of these jobs will not even require skills that you can't learn on the job in a short period of time. It's pretty ridiculous when sales jobs are requiring a Bachelors Degree. This system is requiring us to go further into debt by basically paying 60,000 dollars for a Bachelors Degree which doesn't add up to dog shit in today's economy. It's a piece of paper that might get you a job.
The opposite it true these days, a bachelors degree is the new HS diploma. Majority of employers don't even hire new college grads anymore, hopefully that will change in the future.
And another thing: if some bastard tells you that you need to go to collage and learn IS A DICKHEAD! You can learn things ANYWHERE! You can learn stuff from the internet, a friend, personal experience, and yes even television. For Example: A guy worked out in a gym for one week and he didn't loose any weight. Although he didn't give up so he went to the gym every day and within' 6 months he lost weight and he became muscular. What did we learn? you want results you have to work out consistantly.
Oh yeah and one more thing: I know people that are in collage right now and DON'T know what they want to do with their lives. That's freakin' retarded, going to collage without knowing what you want to do with your life is a BIG WASTE OF TIME AND A WASTE OF MONEY. Those collage commercials that you see on tv, those are NOT collage students/graduates. Those bastards are paid actors.
To the peeps that are watching this video: you don't have to feel bad that you are not going or not interested in college. Remember that collage is hard, collage is expensive, and of course collage is NOT for everyone. Also remember that collage DOESN'T guarantee employment and big bucks. The only thing collage is gonna do for you is teach you skills, there NOT going to prepare you for the real world...that's bullshit.
C SPAN "Black Republican Forum" Session 2 (begin at 11:30) Allen West stated part of Amnesty of 1986 was to secure our borders and enforcement our laws, but haven't happened. (We're still talking about new amnesty like DREAM Act.) We can't allow local cities to make sanctuary cities policies, because they will bring our inner city turf wars to epic proportions by bringing in the drug cartel and Columbian gangs. (Mexican Gangs don't recognize US borders established Treaty of Guadalupe)
In November 2010, the unemployment rate was 9.8% with 15.1 million unemployed. (15.1 million/9.8%) = 154 million are able to work in the workforce. 11,941,812 (or 11.9 million) skilled jobs provided to illegal immigrants. GOOGLE “illegal immigration counters”, the 15.1 million unemployed could take the 11.9 million available jobs. The unemployment rate could be reduced to 2.1% {{15.1-11.9)/154}
Long ago a degree was good enough to get an entry level job with a future. Now it's not only that, but personal or family connections. You have to have a friend or relative with hiring influence to get a job. That shows how corrupt the entire career scene is. After all your studying, exams and hard work, you need someone to hand you your job because what you did still isn't good enough.
I AM NOT....... in any way going to go into debt trying to work for someone else. my moto is if you are going to get a degree go into to debt doing something you want to do for a living, not to work for someone who could care less of you succeed or fail.
My college had a big job fair today. They told all of us to make resumes and show up dressed to impress. We got there, and every job was demanding that we had a bachelors degree and 3 years of work experience. note, this was a job fair at a community college! What happened to the days when people took on apprentices, and taught someone a traid? I'm tired of school, and it teaches me nothing practical.
@ChaoticBlossom then college is not the right place for you, you should attend a vocational or trade school, college doesn't offer apprenticeships, only classroom lectures and useless book knowledge
Dammit. It sucks that nowadays you need a college degree to have a career in practically any field. I remember when all you needed was just a hs diploma & some training & you could have a career in no time :/
@titosuave21 Its a common misconception to believe that a college degree guarantees you a good paying job. College graduates automatically think they are smarter and educated. This is called academic arrogance. In fact, the number of unemployed college graduates has surpassed the number of high school unemployees in early 2001.
There are lots of people who are rich without college degrees. It is way harder to get there without one, but that doesn't mean they are LUCKY, they were just willing to WORK HARDER then most people without college degrees.
not really..YOU are being TOLD by the biased GURU...that word KNOWLEDGE IS POWER didn't come from your brain it came from what you see, hear and read on this life...
my relatives baby sits on their home...5 kids and they make 3200$ every month...TAX FREE...
I myself work in the Grocery industry and you might call my job a hard labor but I call it DAILY Exercise.....Low paying depends on how well you use the money....I am one happy human being....
@kriptonis - sometimes I think the opposite can be even more true; those who don't have a college degree many times have more knowledge than those who've been conditioned by the educational system. They've been taught "what" to think instead of "how" to think.

College degree nowadays is just a ticket to getting (maybe!) hired but it doesn't say much about how knowledgeable you are.
