  • Andante about 100 bps.

  • Artista grandioso!!!! <3 <3

  • i don't mean to disrespect, but anyboddy thought of yomma when they read yo yo ma?

  • i may have an opinion on colour here. White can't do this basso profundo along with such soprano whisperings. I'm white, but that's a gift from black genes.

  • What's the name of this Vivaldi's composition???? Please answer! Thx in advance

  • @BatoBFlex Vivaldi - Double Cello Concerto in G Minor RV531 Here's a link:

    watch?v=IYdTLnlc4q4

  • @lonely270 Thank you a lot man !! Cheers ;)

  • okay this guy is like...AWESOME XD

  • this man is unbelievably talented!!!!! I love, love , love him....what a genius!!! And so damn sexy....

  • This artist is a genius and versatile To 'kaitarojas' the comment you posted, if you dont judge people by who they are then why did you go on and on about the skin colour?,...I think B. McFerrin is great. So 'kaitarojas' what do you think of Yo Yo Ma?

  • He is a GENIUS!!!!!

  • amazing !!!

  • If God exists, he cries while he's listenin' to...

  • i though this guy was white when i first heard him, he was vocalizing the violin part to the first movement to bachs violin concerto in A minor, im a big fan, i sing also, and now i constantly vocalize and sing anything i can every day,

  • @witchcraftlord

What does white or black have to do with talent?

  • @kaitarojas nothing, all i said was that i thought he was white, .. i dont judge people by where they are from or how dark or light their skin is, , i first heard him on classical96.3fm toronto and hes name is Mcferrin, i though he was a Canadian from the UK or Scotland or Ireland, I had no idea from his voice that he was negro, it doesnt bother me , a lot of my favourite, blues and jazz and rock musicians are african american , LISTEN TO BAROQUE MUSIC

  • such a wonderful tone, his voice is the most beautiful instrument

  • genious

  • @CxC2007: I believe that much like yourself, we were raised on the TRADITIONAL classical music and style. But to close yourself off from modern version is to close yourself off to new ideas, and a new way of thinking. What he's done is find a way to bring the arts to a new group of people who would not otherwise come to this avenue of music. The HUMAN is such an amazing instrument that we often overlook it's power to move people. I doubt from your spelling that you know much of the arts.

  • Stop sayin such things. Bobby McFerrin is like the Bob Marley of classical music with even more talent. You can think that he doesn't have Talent, But he does have the music soul and he love's what he's doing. So please, if you don't like it. Keep it for yourself :)

    Thank you

  • @CxC2007 You don't like it?

Check out ANY other Bobby McFerrin song/video, and there you will find talent.

    Phonie? Can you do this?

    :) Thought not.

  • @TheSoundOfMusic64

    Hi !

Do you know witch is the ONLY video with this man that I like??

    This one:

    /watch?v=D0K7ZDx7Daw

remember to add youtube, 'cause it not allow to put it here.

    Have a great day !

  • @CxC2007 You my friend have no musical soul. Don't hate on which you cannot do . Maybe not in your eyes but in mine i see this Person as a God of musical talent and if you cant see that you truely are oblivious to musical art!

  • @SameOldStory1324 Ok Ok, Its NO hate, NO hate, I just see this silly, I cnat believe that he made Cd's from this....

What can I say, ..... I still laught..

Sorry, but No, im not obvlivious to art, maybe I prefer the conventional.

  • hate vivaldi but love bobby!!

  • he is a human instrument. a miracle that will be remembered.

  • who's better? vivaldi or McFerrin? ^^

  • @JohnPlayerSpecial1 remember that bobby wouldnt be singing this without vivaldi

  • @JohnPlayerSpecial1 vivaldi..no doubt here..

  • @willfullyobscure This is not the best Bobby McFerrin song/video you will find. Many others show his true talent. :)

  • Luv this!

  • *Vivaldi approved*

  • This man is awesome!

  • I've been working on this piece on the cello, and hearing this recording has helped me a lot with my interpretation of the piece. Wow! Thanks!

  • The Voice

  • I am really shcked of Mr. McFerrins ART. Very nice and beutifull :)))

  • ooooh, lovely

  • With regard to Georgia Brown (the Brazilian singer) - she was SAID to have a vocal range of 8 octaves, but this was never documented by any recording. The record was eventually supplanted by that of Adam Lopez (Costa), what was recorded at 8 octaves. Nobody has ever reached 9 octaves. For further reference, don't rely on youtube for your facts. Although Wikipedia may not have all it's facts 100% correct, it is at least reviewed, and subject to correction in the event that it is wrong.

  • @FRIENDLYMEXICANBOY Are you a mental cripple? No human voice on earth has a 6 octave range. Instruments in the violin family have 4 1/2 octaves, and the piano has seven. The largest human vocal ranges have almost 4 octaves. So right there you've shown yourself as not knowing much about the human voice. Do you listen to jazz? There are a great many singers whose improvisational prowess far outstrips that of Mr. Mcferrin.

  • @violatione I dont know much about music theory and I was also wrong about him having a 6 octave voice.

Its the fact that you seem to believe Mcferrin is somewhat overhyped, and that he isnt such a phenomenal talent. In your eyes, mcferrin is no more talented the average run of the mill singer that has been classically trained. I cannot understand how you can say that 80% of the singers you knew at music school are vocally capable of outshining Mcferrin... I just cannot belive this to be true.

  • Ok I will conceed that 80% may be a bit high. I'll stand at 60%.

  • @violatione lol

  • @violatione "Georgia brown" has 9 octaves vocal range... and "nicola sedda" too

  • @919191x Do you know what an octave is? Walk over to a piano and hit middle C. Ok now hit the next C above. That is an octave. You just said that the people you named have larger ranges than the piano. They don't. I think where you err is that you're mistaking named pitches for octaves (A5, B7 and the like).

  • @violatione no no! i'n sure! search on youtube "georgia brown" or "nicola sedda"... that's truly 9 octaves!

  • @919191x I really think you're wrong here. You're telling me that the people you named have vocal ranges that exceed the range of a piano BY TWO OCTAVES!!! No dude, you're not correct on this point.

  • @violatione go and search for them! expecially georgia brown... it's very strange but it's true!!! search "georgia brown range" or "nicola sedda range"...i didn't belive until i listened to it!

  • @919191x I have listened to them and I'm not hearing 9 octaves. I'm hearing 3.

  • @violatione ok... you didn't listen... georgia brown low note:

    watch?v=CbSjFdu8S3Q

    georgia brown high note: watch?v=ZQS_2QmruX0

    nicola sedda low note: watch?v=5KUhGQuOr3o

    nicola sedda high note: watch?v=-p3cANGi06Y

after you listened this come back and tell me that these were "3 octaves ranges"

  • @919191x I'm sitting here with my viola in my lap. And I'm playing Georgia Browns notes. It's a little over 3 octaves. Now with Nicola Sedda, his vocal fry register to his flute register is 9 1/2 octaves. Your range measured as a scale that you can sing (without the help of a mic) from the bottom to the top. Personally my vocal fry is just as low as his and I can flute two octaves below his highest note. But this is not my range. Many people can do this but it is unusable.

  • @violatione yes.... I think too that it isn't usable in singing ... but that's a fact that that's 9 octaves range and not so many as you say can do that...but the point is!!!....there are 9 octaves ranged people!!! it's a fact!

  • @919191x LOL ok ok! I concede. I concede! There are 9 octave people who walk the Earth.

  • @919191x Bobby Mcferrin is not one of them. so take this pointless debate elsewhere.

  • @revoltingmexican the debate was already ended :D ..... anyway the connection was that someone wrote that bobby has 5-6 octave range and someone else wrote that it was imossible(max 3 octaves) ...so i wrote 2 great exceptions.... so it's not pointless! :D

  • @919191x mariah carey has a proven 4 octave range, so tel that person that max 3 octaves is definitely not true.

  • @ubartkishi Abut the biggest range I've encountered is 4 octaves. Maybe there are some unusual souls with slightly more than this, but talk of 9 octave ranges is obvious nonsense.

  • @cosmicjazzer 9 octaves is definitely impossible.

  • @ubartkishi not unless u have a computer......autotune.....but then again.....

  • @cosmicjazzer i have a 10

  • @cosmicjazzer There have been people with a 8.5 octave range. Definatly closing on it.

  • @violatione pointing out gramatical errors are we? Still? Get with the times home boy thats a long dead tradition of the internet troll.

With regards to what you said about bobby, "he has a plesant voice and can carry a tune"... what planet have you been living on man? Seriously... thats a dumbass thing to say. You also said that 80% of the singers you know can do things that bobby can never do... Have you not seen any of his live imporovisational work? This is RAW talent that only bobby can do.

  • Comment removed

  • @ComradeDeath this was my first album too! Quickly followed by as many others that I could get my hands on lol :)

  • @violatione it doesn't matter whether it's hard or not. he does it beautifully and that's what counts. you're just jealous because he's brilliant and you're not. let me see you do this better than he does!!

He's so talented, this is great! thanks so much for posting :D

  • @mrOk333 Hey I'm not jealous at all. The man is a great hustler and I applaud him for being able to exploit myriad of dumb people and take their money. But honestly I know countless people who can outsing him.

  • @violatione why don't you go watch their videos instead of bitching on Bobby...

  • @mrOk333 I did

  • @violatione I said INSTEAD.

  • @violatione oh my goodness!!! I can't believe you posted this!!! Unreal! Have you actually watched or listened to him sing at all? Go check out some videos!! You cannot possibly be a musician and honestly think this?

  • @annakchambers How can you question my musicianship when it is painfully clear that you don't know any singers. 80% of the singers with whom I went to school were light years ahead of anything that Bobby could do. McFerrin's vocal ability is about the same as that of any trained symphonic musician (who can carry a tune). If YOU were a real musician, you'd know this.

  • @violatione hi Violatione, I'm not sure if you're sincere or not, but as it happens I do know quite a few singers, and feel honoured to do so. I trained for 5 years on scholarship in high school and then 3 and a half at University in my particular instrument, and averaged about 81% across the board while doing so. My last performance exam of my Uni degree came back at 93%, and I have played, sung and performed in many groups, ensembles and concert halls. I have also won several scholarships.

  • @violatione I am grateful to be a musician, and have the skills that I do, and grateful also to listen to a musician like Bobby McFerrin. I didn't mean offence at all by my post - I'm quite sincere in that I really DO find it hard to believe that any musician would honestly state Bobby McFerrin to not be talented. I wonder if perhaps you haven't heard some of his other recordings like his collaboration with Chick Corea or Yo Yo Ma for example? The above doesn't do him as much justice as most.

  • @annakc08 I'm not offended and I NEVER said that he wasn't talented. In fact I think that he blows away most pop musicians. He has a pleasant voice and can carry a tune, but so can many trained musicians. My problem is not with him. It's with the people who gush over him as though he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Yes I've heard most of his recorded material. However there isn't anything that I've heard him do that I cannot also do with minimal practice.

  • @violatione ur dumb

  • @FRIENDLYMEXICANBOY At least I can spell "you're"

  • Comment removed

  • @violatione watch the bobby mcferrin and richard bona video on youtube and then tell me that 80% of the singers you know would have been capable of doing this not only as well as mcferrin, but even better so!

  • @annakc08 If you went to a good music school then you of all people should know what an accomplished singer really is.

  • @violatione yes violatione, I do know what an accomplished singer is. Saying that Bobby McFerrin has a 'pleasant voice and can carry a tune' is like saying that Michael Jordan can bounce a basketball and play a good game. I find your ignorance amazing. If you could really sing over 6 octaves and pick out notes as though you're playing a keyboard and do any of the myriad of amazing things Bobby does, you wouldn't be here commenting the way you have. I just read some of your other posts and

  • @annakc08 I'm glad that you made that analogy! Mcferrin is not the Michael Jordan of singing. He is more like an "And 1" allstar, who if he were to play in the NBA would be a third stringer. 6 octaves! Are you serious?!!! the violin has four and one half octaves. Bobby does not have that kind of range.

  • ... can't believe what you've written. I'll stop posting now because I don't think there's much point!

  • @annakc08 You are so right there is no point in discussing with a fool! Mr. McFerrin is absolutely magnificent he is not performing music or making music he IS music himself. Soul, heart, body, mind = music.

  • @Desiderata66 Oh sure call me a fool because you don't know what music is. You've spent your whole life listening to MTV and VH1 listening to people who are chosen for their looks and not their skill. When you come across someone who can actually carry a tune, you believe that Jesus is among you. I'm here to tell you that there are many echelons of singer above Mr. Mcferrin. The fact that you don't know this does not make me a fool.

  • to be fair... is this actually hard.. i dont think so lol. i could do that in my sleep.

  • @h1a2n3n4a5h6 yeah, in your dreams.

  • Much love for this great orchestra director and vocal wonder. Sir I take my hat off, I just wish I may have a chance to see your performance live. So much talent, and such humility.

  • @wingedsniper Bobby McFerrin is very much alive and well! Go check out some of his other vids :)

  • This guy understands baroque music so well and he has a stunningly good ear.

  • turi ruri turi ruri

  • He's like a classical beat boxer or something..if hat even makes sense lol i like him, can't believe i slept on this guy's talent for so long !

  • @90mv 'Hat' totally makes sense. Heehee! Yeah, he amazing though.

  • @TheMeEvan heh heh typooosss r great

  • @90mv ( : It's the slightly slipping on ice of the internet.

  • However i do think and feel that bobby Mcferrin is Beautiful. just in case you wondered

  • @Drstoo1 beautiful with a capital B? Do you type with your pinkie out too? ... shit you sound so... you know!?

  • @Drstoo1

he isn't just humming along he is singing one of the cello parts. no one else is playing his part with him.

  • thanks for that reply comment back. Yes you do have a point. do excuse my discription Humming and singing.

  • @saxyjazzman91

and he is directing the orchestra.

  • This is Vivaldi man ! Vivi felice xdo2. Nora

  • tooooolllll

  • meraviglioso

  • Hey man, this is beautiful music why taint it with hatred?

  • Wow, you are really ignorant.

  • Great...

who else is able to sing a vivaldi cello part?

and if anyboy is... bobby does it better ;o)

  • Indeed a musical genius. I find his music par excellence!

  • Bobby Mcferrin: a very unusual but very genuine talent. Great musicality!

  • Respect to one of the world's greatest gift - Bobby McFerrin.

  • @maeve511 ok yeaaa... anybody can sing, but some do it better than others. it is not just about doing it.

  • I don't think people are taken back by what you think they are. It's not so much what he does... it's what he does with it, and how he does it. The harmonies, the rhythms; not everyone can do that, and Bobby McFerrin is certainly a master of rhythm and harmony.

  • @maeve511 come on and try it. Do it better then him, and if you do it we hear about you, dullard. Try it :)

  • I remember when Vivaldi wrote this mastepiece.

  • ...You remember when Vivaldi wrote this...so you are at least 300 hundred years old? :O Lol

  • Yes, it has been a memorable millennium.

  • only vampires live that long :P

  • genius

  • the name is just as the description states...Concerto for two Cellos in G-Minor RV531

great piece and Bobby McFerrin is an amazing vocalist!

  • ok i know its vivaldi but what's this concerto's name??

  • beautiful

  • He playes so in tune, and has such a voice timbre...

  • The man is unthinkably talented...

  • i couldnt have said it better myself.

  • Tremendous!! It shows the true artistry and beauty that is Mr. McFerrin. Nothing less than perfection!!

  • niesamowite...

  • stupendo!!!

  • excelente

  • che meraviglia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG! This is wonderful!

  • Did Bobby McFerrin and Yo Yo Ma create another album together after Hush? If so, I must have it.

  • like silk...

  • Bellissimo! maestro!

  • fantastic yaar .. mind blasting...tooo good tooo good... A 1

  • I love it!! Bobby Mcferrin... the best!!!

  • Does it fill the heart and soul of both listener and musician? Then it is legitimate--whatever form it takes. Bobby McFerrin has long ago proven he is one of the greats :)

  • it realley doesnt sound like yo yo

  • I have this recording and it isn't Yo-Yo Ma playing the other cello part...it's the principal cellist of the orchestra, can't remember his name, but I'm pretty sure it isn't Yo-Yo...It doesn't sound like Yo-Yo really...

  • How does Yo-Yo sounds?

  • Isn't it sol gabetta?

  • You know that saying?: "Like a dolphin is not a part of the fish family, the singer is not a part of the musician family." Of Course this is untrue, thanks to Bobby McFerrin =) .

No really, singers are musicians too, and its people like Bobby McFerrin that remind us that music is open, free, and takes up in many forms.

  • interesting thought. i play the violin and ive always strived to sound like the voice. i was always taught that the voice is the ultimate musical sound, that singers were the original musicians

  • Wow, a violinist willing to admit that?! Careful now =D

  • I was told that the cello is one of the musical instruments that has almost the same timbre as the human voice. Thats why it sounds so well together =)

  • id believe that. their notes can have almost the same tone quality

  • That's funny . I am a soprano and have always tried to sound like a violin. From what I'm told, I am pretty successful. However, I am more successful at sounding like a flute.Does this make sense? I always thought of my voice as an instrument. I guess that is why I love Bobby so.

  • @oldbiddie should not we have the pleasure of hearing you here.

Please let us hear you :)

  • @boiragirules: You make an old lady smile. If were younger, I would. I am not about to pull a Susan Boyle ( whom i admire btw). I will ask you.. when is old too old? Since we don't know each other, you can be honest.

  • when you think you are old, you are old, I saw in tv on the other day that one couple in hteir 90s rocking in a dance club. You are never old if you do not think you are not old. I am not being diplomatic or politically corrent.

  • @boiragirules

    You are so correct.

  • There is nothing about the voice that makes it inherently "ultimate." It makes sound by the same basic mechanisms instruments do. You should realize that whoever "taught" you that voice is the ultimate musical sound was only stating his opinion, although he may have presented it as a fact.

  • i said "ultimate" because it was the FIRST instrument. people heard the voice and made instruments to imitate them

  • "Ultimate" means last. The word you are looking for is "prime".

  • Ultimate also happens to mean "basic or fundamental."

Prime also refers to a grade of meat.

Read the every definition of a word before you comment on its usage.

  • It's funny because "ultimate" means the exact opposite of "first" :-p

Not disagreeing, just found that amusing.

  • Really beautiful, a crime for the ears and a joy for the soul

  • Crime for the ears? You call this a crime?

    -l
