I certainly am not. This is hane goshi. /watch?v=XAdRr1gsu0w&feature=related
What tori is doing here is not. Curling the leg a little bit does not make it hane goshi, which means "spring hip." Uke should go up and back as tori's hip springs into him before going over. Tori here simply rolls uke over his hip, like uchi mata (although he tries to spring his hip -- after loading uke).
@gregorde IDK man the throw looks so much like ashi guruma and harai goshi but it is definitely not an uchi mata since he is not reaping the upper, inner thigh of the opponent's leg. This throw.... idk, im really not a hane goshi expert but in japanese (which i am) haneru means to decapitate or to jumb (hop, spring watever u want to call it). Hane can also mean feathers which probably has nothing to do with the throw.
@ninjalla No, really, that's an uchi mata variant. There's no real hip spring in the technique demonstrated. It's not your fault. Hane goshi is absurdly difficult to perform. Most people do some variant of uchi mata when they think they're doing hane goshi. Look at ptnippon's hanegoshi video -- that's hane goshi.
@gregorde that is not uchi mata. uchi mata is when the leg goes up the center line. watch it again his right leg is bent and targets the right leg of uke.
Hane goshi is a throw in which uke walks backwards. Uke faals on the spot were he is thrown with his head near tori. Its has the same forwardlike movement as the harai tsuri komi ashi were uke is also more or less "push kicked" forward.
In the video tori moves backwards and in that movement tori should have used harai goshi or uchi mata instead of hane goshi.
You need to spring your right foot/leg more. It looks ineffective. Nice attempt though. If its due to balance issues, try Harai Goshi first, once i got that down and my balance issues under control, then i moved onto Hane Goshi.
Also the bent leg sweeps upward inside or to the side of ukes shin first and propels uke up high like a lever or catapult, and the intent is to swing the bent hane leg as high as you can along with the hips then turning twisting and slamming(theres some variations with the hands) would be laborious to explain. Its an ok hane goshi, but the main intent in hane goshi is catapulting the hip upwards along with the bent leg to generate the momemtum to thrust the opponent upwards(nand sweeping backwards with the hips). Its a little trick with the hips like a good o goshi( the more advanced one).
hane goshi, harai goshi and uchimata look similar thats why most people confuse the throw lol.

It can also be a variation of uchimata but it does not look perfectly like it either (i just noticed)

@seungykim I made a wrong comment. This is, just like what others say, a uchi mata variant, not a true hane goshi. I apologize for the wrong comment.

That's uchi mata. It's not even remotely close to hane goshi.

@gregorde Respectfully, I thin you are wrong here

@gregorde its not uchi mata since his leg isnt brushing the inner thigh but hane goshi and uchi mata are similar

Didn't load the uke onto the hip, not hane goshi.
More of an uchimata variation, with a bent leg, since it doesn't require the hip to hip contact.

man remove this video from youtube that not hane goshi. It's suppose to be beautiful, you missed points of contact and the famous spring
