how funny iphone and pre being so advanced in their os, but can miss important basic functions such as put contacts in a group (send a message to a group), and forward messages. even funnier, when they make it do-able its going to sound like a big deal where these things are actually pretty standard on other phones.

Every Sprint smartphone I've had, including Treos and a Centro, have been able to send/receive SMS (text messages) while on a voice call. I just did it now to be sure and yup, works fine with just 1 cellular radio.

can u make a group for mass text messages. it is so tedious when u have to type in 10 names as apposed to just typing FAMILY or GROUP 1 ya know.

It's pretty immature and irresponsible for you to be posting these. You ruin it for real developers by breaking the trust Palm has extended to us so we can get an early start on development. But then again, you must be pretty stupid to openly admit in a public forum that you and your buddy broke the NDA. Palm's lawyers will have a field day with this. I hope they come down on you and your buddy hard.

Question: Can you explain the menu system? Why is it that you can scroll up and down, and also left and right? Seems like you only need to do one or the other, I don't get why you scroll down to the fourth row just for one icon and then swipe to a new page for a few other icons...what decides where these icons go? Is one page native apps, another installed apps, can you have 6 rows on a page and just 1 on another, what's the deal?

I see it as just giving more room to do things. The first page seems to be for entertainment and communication the second for utilities (business stuff) and the third for settings. I am sure on launch you will be able to rearrange these better but as I have said before the emulator is limited and does not come with instructions so I am learning as I make these vids.

Haha thanks. Erm Palm isn't exactly letting me do these. I am technically under an NDA, and TBH I'm not even supposed to have this emulator. A friend of mine leaked it to me.

Not sure if this info is elsewhere, but do you know if the pre will do two say syncing with Google calendars? I just want to make sure I could both see, and edit, my Google calendar from the pre.

also, how about the alarm clock. how any alarms can you have? and can you set different days for each alarm?

Yes it will 2 way sync with Google calendars. As for alarms the Pre doesn't come with one out of box, but I know some developers in the forums have come up with one already so I know it won't be long at all until someone gives us an alarm app.

I'm the person that asked about adding multiple contacts when sending a text. My question was not clearly answered. I need to know if you can click on contacts and then select Mike, Bob,Tom, Jeff, Tracy, Terry, & John and then click something to add them to the "To:" field at one time. Instead of selecting one name at a time.

Ok I just checked that out and I do not see a way that it can be done. There may be a way to do it but like I said I have limited hardware here. Because of the emulator.

What does the "Date & Time" app do?

Allows you to set the date and time or have the network set it for you. I demonstrate this in the settings video i just posted.
