You are correct my friend ! A pipe heater is a great idea and I will post that in the next video. Pleas give me your name so that I can mention it for credit where it is due !
Nice, I was looking for an idea like this. 5 times a week I provide my chickens with fress water. Thats a bit to much of my effort. I gonna try to make this. It would be even more educational if you subtitle the video (in your language, English). txs
I've done this same thing for my chickens but i would add that to keep algae at bay in the buckets, put a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar per gallon of water - esp so in white buckets - & the chickens' water will be algae free & no harm done to chickens or altered taste in eggs!!
Oh hai, I will share how I make a lot of easy money protecting links and youtube. Google some royalty free wallpapers, songs or templates. Upload those to megaupload or something. Then sign up with bee4biz (Just Google it) and use them to lock your download link. Make a video advertising your royalty free download and post protected download link in description. bee4biz will pay each time somebody completes a survey to unlock your download link. They pay via moneybookers or PayPal weekly.
Just bought the materials and tried it! Love it!!!! We have lots of chickens so I'm going to try the same thing with a large garbage can for the food.
Using shallow pans allows more dirt and debris to be kicked into them by the birds. Use a pan that comes up to the top of their legs at least when possible.
@steelworks lol just lost 6 bird today because I forgot to water them...ok so looking for a good idea...trying to figure out where to get a more shallow pan lol thanks
Thanks for the comment and the "heads up". So far I have used every type of bucket and pan and cannot tell any difference in the eggs or health of the chickens as long as they are kept clean. I think that almost anything left dirty or not refilled often will definitely not be the right thing for sure. Thanks again !
hey, one thing to consider... I've read that typical 5-gallon buckets are made out of a type of material that leaches harmful chemicals into the food/water you are storing in them. But, if you stick with food grade plastics (like the buckets from a deli... I think used in this video... sorry, no sound atm), it's a great/inexpensive DIY solution. Also, I'm not sure what kind of metal that is that he is using, but I have seen some stuff that speaks against galvanized metals (can't remember why).
@steelworks....Im only 13 put me nd my grandpa r really big in the chicken buisnes nd me dont hav alot of money.N we made a couple of these to c if they wor.Nd they did so we made abunch of them nd thts all we use to water our chicken..Thxs 4 the tip..

If they are water tight and air tight then you should be fine.

can you put srews in the bottom with washers or will the water go throught the washer
poultryguy11 1 year ago
@poultryguy11 if you use silicone to seal it up you would be fine. You Might want to use aquarium silicone just to be safe.
