Yes, stop trying to learn "new" tricks and make the routine with the tricks you are already good at. Keep the routine fun but simple - entertainment is more important than difficulty.

the routine itself was perfect, you didn't mess up anything (that i saw). but the juggling was not the best i've seen, and that's probably why the judges gave you 3rd.

if it were up to me, you would have 1st.

I went to IJA 2006 and I heard many people talking about how they thought Takashi Hagiwara should have placed instead.

This is not the video of the performance at the IJA. There he dropped 4 or 5 times and did this cool flat half shower thing.

If the competition was on creativity alone Michael Karas deserved first but technical skill is also incorporated. That is why I do not agree with the judges.

I think that this routine is aimed at non jugglers because of the lack of difficult tricks.

This is one of the best juggling routines. One of my favourites. Maybe u arent Vova Galchenko with technics but u are hundred times better performer. Awsome. Especially I like ball and club routines.

michael is quite talented, fun to watch, and extremely creative.

when it comes to skills, ive seen a better juggler today with some incredibly fast and hard 3-ball patterns, but he isnt interested in performing. and he had 20 more years to practise. michael will continue to improve, right now he is already very good because of his creativity, and in 20 years he will be a juggler that blows your mind. thats how it works.

Michael understands context, and created this piece for an audience of jugglers at a festival. I think it expresses his personality, his aesthetic and his sense of humor. The audiences we played for absolutely ate him up...in a good way. I've showed this video to non-jugglers, and they tend to enjoy it as well.

I have hired him for a series of shows in Performing Arts Centers; paying audiences of non-juggling adults. I'll let you know how it goes. I have full confidence in him.
