  • "This was going to be a thing of beauty...."

    *applause*

I am informed, and it is hilarious. Thanks.

  • I dont think BMP or BMD is any better than Bradley...

  • @HarryRed01

    see you in a fight

BMP against you in the Bradley

    mwa ha ha ...

  • @HarryRed01 BMP-2 is fine for its job, bradley is more sophisticated and better protected but on convential warfare the BMP-2 will do its job just fine. BMP-1 is sort of out-dated though.

  • @SuperFinnish The stock m2a3 bradley is really no much more armoured/ protected than the bmp 2. Needless to say, any tank will go through both of them like its made out of paper. The bmp actualy haves a much bigger chance of survival cuz of its low siluete and speed unlike the towering/ tank size bradley. Americans don't know what they want so they cram everything into one vehicle and in the end it can't do anything properly. Unlike the russians, they make specialized vehicles.

  • When your design makes Warhammer tanks look simple and practical, you know you fucked up somewhere.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, we call this scope creep.

Do not ever do this to an IT designer.

The phrase "wouldn't it be cool if..." is basically a trigger word for an instantaneous workplace shooting.

  • Time for a sequel revolving around the F-35 this time?

  • What's the music from 0:22?

  • why russian can make so good tank.

  • @matavarium Cause they aren't idiots. lol

Look at the Russian BMP's BTR's and BMD's.

  • FYI, I found this funny as an engineer. I am the most patriotic person you will ever meet and I love the Bradley. As an engineer I am used to having people meddle with my designs and I thought that this scene summed it up very well. Just so people don't get the wrong idea.

  • @66NOVA66 The fact that you feel the need to defend your patriotism is a sad testament to how far off track America has gone. There is nothing unpatriotic about criticizing the inefficiency and ineptitude of bureaucracy. Blind allegiance and obedience are not patriotism. You may need to explain yourself to some people, but not to me. Patriots want what's best for the country, not what bolsters the ego of some jerk (whether elected or appointed) in D.C.

  • @muridsilat Gotcha and I do appreciate it. I more or less didn't want any anti-american rants to be posted on here. Constructive criticism is ok, but comments purely intended to insult the US will be deleted. Obviously, criticizing a weapons program because it fails to protect our troops is understandable. Ha, but i will delete any blind anti US stuff.

  • I don't see the problem, it's supposed to be an IFV like the BMP not just a "troop carrier". If all the army wanted was a "taxi driver" then they would just make the troops use Humvees. Also, what is wrong with the military making recommendations to the design engineers? It's called holding them accountable, if the Pentagon just had to buy everything the defense contractors crapped out then we would have a military industrial complex on our hands.

  • @HYDRAdude

The problem is that they could have just said that "We want infantry fighting vehicle, equivalent of Soviet BMP's" instead of "We want a APC with lol-features", thus saving time and money.

  • @HYDRAdude

    i lolled.

  • @MitchofSmeg

this too many dumb people in charge!! (private sector is even worse!!)

  • @HYDRAdude

Check this term: SCOPE CREEP. It's universal project killer.

    You'll work a bit, you'll understand.

BTW: YOU ALREADY have military industrial complex on your hands. Your new destroyer cost as much as previous aircraft carriers !

  • @HYDRAdude troops using humvess is NOT a good taxi service......were talking about 3 dismounts per truck.....that is terrible logistics, oh and i feel like we already have a military complex on our hands......i dont think anyones against recommendations, i think people would like it to be more consistant........whatever your opinion this clip makes me LOL

  • @HYDRAdude The whole video went over your head. Changing a design is expensive and costs money. Didn't you hear that they wanted it to be a recon vehicle, even if it wasn't designed or it? It's the same thing as asking a BMW 760i to spend less gas.

Then they wanted it to have a turret, which made it even more obvious to enemy observers, which ruined it's recon capabilities. Then armour it up, which makes it slower. Then have it carry missiles.

    A hummvee? It's not armoured.

  • all be damned if anybody bad mouths the Bradley!. Yea I know, it has a history of its own according to the film. But you what YOU dont know is that I as a retired soldier, I worked on it. That was my Army job. 63M Bradley Maintainer! I am proud to say that. I loved to work on those track vehicles. I have seen them fire those guns in tables 8 and during war. A "Brad" has never let me down. If your an infantry man or a scout you know what I am talking about. Ordnance Corps...........HOOAH!!!!!!!!

  • @chevy3596

Bradley IS ADEQUATE NOW. After lot's of modifications that have fine ICV, which still DOESN'T compare to foreign counterparts as M-1 does to it's. M-1 has one weaknes for other nations: gas turbine. It's at least equal or (usually) better to any other MBT. Bradley has less protection, less firepower, less mobility than most of it's contemporaries like CV-90 family.

Anyway I heard good opinon: any ICV if flawed - as by design it isn't built around full infantry squad.

  • @AnteyPL Stryker ICV seems to work around the infantry

  • The one thing about this movie is that the BMP was never mentioned once as the BMP was a factor in the development of the Bradley. I would have included a scene in which an army officer explains to the air force colonel a history of the BMP and its performance in the 1973 Middle East war, which was far from expectations.

  • It seems wildly optimistic to put enough TOWs to take out a tank company in every single of your IFVs. I guess the BMP3 has the same problem with its armament, seems a bit excessive.

  • God bless America!

  • Much like he did with Toby on the West Wing, Richard here gives an amazing performance for this HBO movie. Love this film! Great post.

  • Army took 18 years,and spent 16 BILLION TAX DOLLARS,our tax dollars,to build it.And this kind of theft is still going on,they spell it W A R .
