Funny enough I actually believe in "God", but not in the Christian way. I am more close to the theories of Giordano Bruno. Too long to explain on Youtube.
However I don't adhere to any religion or cult, because I believe it's ALWAYS a form of flattery and conformism. However I don't want anyone religious to be offended by my post, because I find religions fascinating for a lot of aspects and I also respect other creeds and beliefs.

Actually I know this sounds silly but when the chorus kicks he doesn't say Your God, but just God. Then he says Your God. These phrases have two different meanings. Saying your God, which relates to the phrase "He dreamed a God up and called it Christianity" is related to Feuerbach theories of a God that is a reflection of man's ideals and desires, therefore not real because man made (theme also present in MM's The Reflectin God). God is Dead is instead a reference to Nietzsche's "Got ist tot!"

People don't need divine representations of good for moral purposes. Just do good things on your own part. Peace with control comes naturally, because it restricts you to do things aimlessly. However, humans are not aimless. We want to live and be happy, or at least work with one another. Granted, there are twisted fucks whose ideas of good may be perverted, but they represent people you come into contact with.
