  • Lovely Lovely song

  • This is such a wonderful song and I can feel the angst and pain he felt in all the tragic songs he wrote. I have been a Nick Drake fan since I was 8 and dad brought home Five Leaves Left. he used to sit and listen to this song and bravely weep, which for a man in my youth was unheard of. We played this song at his funeral last year as it just seemed so fitting.

  • Perfect Saturday song.

  • This is a great nick drake song. Ive been listning to nickdrake for morethan tenyears but the first time i heard this gem. one of his besti think was today

  • For me this is my Grandfather. Walking with me in the saturday sun. It was always sunny on saturdays back then...

  • Que linda la poesía

  • well i feel quite somnambulent. always sad when i hear this song

  • "That didn't seem much in their day

But when I remember those people and places

They were rarely too good in their way..."

It seems Nick's truth: simply too good

  • @LIEND24 I figure in that line, he's saying "really too good" in his awesome Midlands accent. You can hear it in other songs, too, when he says "years," etc.

  • this is recorded offf a vinal!!! awesome!!!

  • 1 Person is either deaf or in a mental home.

  • @boxingsinger I think most people in a mental home would understand this music, and love it all the same... So it's probably just a deaf and bitter old man who disliked this.

  • Hard 2 believe recorded in '68. The jazz vibes really set this one apart from a very bleak but georgious album. Never realized how much influence Nick had on David Gray til I really sat down and listened to White Ladder with some great headphones. Nick was a tortured yet beautiful soul.

  • Nick Drake......a beautiful old soul

  • Suddenly... I have no more headache.... Such a good song I felt the need to comment twice, SO THERE YOU GO! Actually, let me bring it down a notch, there you are every body, and a beautiful afternoon to you all :D

  • Who'd like to join...? I mean, in hunting down the one person who disliked this song...

  • This and rainymood. com

  • He had a bluesman's soul.

  • So bluesy and soothing. Aaaaah, Nick.

  • @DanielVladimir2 What would Nick do! Whoever disliked it will never no what he/she was missing.

  • Oh Angela, its gorgous.

  • I think the song is about Nick trying to find the lost happiness of his youth. But the happiness he found in his adult life was only fleeting, like the Saturday sun. Either way it's a beautiful song from a genius lyricist and performer.

  • This music, thanks for posting this that's music of Our time, and let the world knoe music could go through all different moods of our souls. Thank you

  • @MrPrizmatic
