This is for sure one of the most wonderful songs that Ken Hensley has ever written (ok, this time in cooperation with John Wetton). And I didn't even know this solo version exists! So thanks very much for posting it!
However, for all the love I have for Ken's songs I must admit I prefer the High And Mighty version. The pedal steel guitar and David's voice are just so absolutely... yeah, heart-wrenching.
@Fatouma1962@Fatouma1962 We are lucky to have both versions of this wonderful song :-). As for the original was it David or Ken singing the lead vocals on it. It sounds to me that Ken is singing the original as well. I can be wrong. Their voices interchangeably complimentary to each other. For example the opening song
for the Look at Yourself is sang by Ken Hensley in the studio and by David Byron in live concerts.
