I live there, It's a good place to live, the schools are good and there are not all those kind of people who party every weekend and run around like crazy. It's peaceful. I've always lived there and I must say, it is a bit boring. I live between Gudhjem and Østerlars. I love the nature, almost every day, i take a walk or a run trough the forest, that's why i hate snow, because I can't run in snow.
Charming place. Charming people, but a little too much “on the distance” from tourists. I understand that History wasn’t so gentle with them, but on the other hand, we - tourist help them to survive till the next year, right? One thing simply had knocked me down: sterility.
Believe it or not but on Bornholm it is possible to eat right out of a sidewalk. With all due respect, after my visit to this island, Germany looks to me like “not very clean” country.
What an amazing place that would be to live. A tiny windswept island in the middle of nowhere. You could really lose yourself in a place like that. I can imagine having breakfast somewhere, walking to the ocean & sitting on the beach writing stories on my laptop whilst listening to the seagulls & the waves. The cold crisp air, & the idea that you're a million miles away from CNN, BBC and the whole rest of the world that doesn't touch your secret blissful paradise.
i cannot wait to go back there! my biggest dream as a little girl always was and always has been to return and go live there. i hope someday i can at least return to smell the sea again.
