  • is that the chinese Conan o'brien?

  • As an engineer, I sometimes encounter atto seconds of moment. Is there an app for that yet? Seriously. Wrap your heads around real practical quantum.

    Spintronic.

    zettaFLOPS 1021

    exaFLOPS 1018

  • I have to agree, every millisecond is important.

  • just stopping by...

  • Cool channel you have here.

  • googel is evil, they screwed up utoob!

  • OMG... so... things add up?

  • Be still, Cody!

  • The human ear can define milliseconds. That's what makes us able to detect reverbs and define the size of an enclosed space we may be in. The eye, though, only clocks at 1/25th of a second, hence 25 frames a second movies look like motion. Most peoples brains however, seem to operate geologically....

  • @ALFHARDY

The eye dont have that sort of clock.

For example you can see something flashing, even if just for a millisecond.

But that doesnt mean you can see thousands of things per second, you can only distinguish a few things. And dark things needs longer time to be noticed, you might not notice when you wink. How many pictures per seconds needed for smooth motion depends on how sharp the images are and how much they differentiate. 25 frames per second doesnt always look like motion

  • Jeff Goldblum is Google's VP of engineering?

  • haha thats exactly what i thought lol

  • @xenoah haha yeah wtf's with that!?

  • type "the answer to life, the universe, and everything" without the quotation marks into google and the calculator will say the answer is 42

  • really? haha thats funny

  • This is one of the main reasons why I utterly despise Facebook...it is just too dam slow. One other reason is the lack of an easy way to permanently delete all your account information and your account. The rest would be a rant that would not fit in this box.

  • if you type google into google you can break the internet!

lol nah this just a quote from "the it crowd" the best British show ever made

  • i should google that...

  • every googling googles.

  • dennis looks like Michael jackson

  • you should wear contacts

  • but he does, he looks like a Chinease Michael Jackson, its because hes so white!

  • I see the resemblance. Also the really thin nose bridge.

  • do you no how long this video took to load google agggeeeeeees!

  • Tidy code makes for faster code?

    man perltidy

  • mj fan i guess :P oh shut up, don't you dare flag me, it's a goddamn joke. plus for the video: yeah, we figured that out, so u should be rather working on code than on videos.

  • Everything counts in large amounts.

  • Every millisecond counts

  • Ironically, running on a highly constrained processor, I find that one of the slowest features in chrome is animated adverts- because you can't turn them off!!!

Firefox has ways to do that; so configurability wins in the end; it's more consistent.

Shame really, i like chrome, it otherwise gives really good performance.

  • HA!!! I agree with them so bad. Start by making youtube snapier please.

  • yeah like making comments appear in the right order for start.

  • Is there any no-asian that works in Google?

  • I meant fiber optics in the last comment, not cable. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Just throw more ram and CPU speed at the problem and it's a non-issue. No one optimizes these days. Light up the cable and speed really is a non-issue. :)

  • Good luck upgrading every internet user's computer, and good luck using the "more hardware"-philosophy on projects that need to be able to scale well.

  • No one knows about optimization these days, I mean TRUE optimization where you're using lookup tables and watching clock cycles in your code. Just throw CPU power at it, that's the mantra of today. Same with the net. Just boost the server and/or light up fiber optic connectivity and any and all problems go away. It's just that simple. Look at Windows or any OS for that matter. Lots of junk under the trunk but it's okay as long as the CPU is fast and there exists a lot of memory. :)

  • Hooray, don't optimize your code, just like Crysis did. Eventually people will become obsessed with what they're missing out on and the market will be flooded with ridiculous GPUs that noone needs like the GTX 295, and mobos that support 12 Gig of RAM.

  • hey, that's what drives the computer gaming industry :D how would you feel if everything was as nice as source engine?!?! (personally i would be thrilled :D)

  • Excellent

  • this is so true

  • in gaming 20ms to 50ms to 100ms is very noticable...

  • wait... dont tell me.... call of duty 4 right?

  • HI.

  • Good race/age mixture, can't complain! Just wish they would talk a bit quicker. In fact maybe a speed slider on the video so I can watch it a bit faster.

  • nice

  • The link at the end of the video is dead! 404

  • No it's not.

  • wow these past comments have been soo nonracist

    I LIKE!

i love how google chooses to keep us updated with what they do but usually the videos end up laughing at the race of the people in the video...

i like to see that changing and people actually talking about the video!

  • more speed more speed!!!

  • Agreed!

  • yes yes and yes!
