Technically speaking a Universal Healthcare system, run properly, is the best way to offer the benefit of life to all in a country well keeping a zero-loss and possibly a gaining profit system.

Obviously this is not the case in America, but countries like Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, and even Cuba are doing a decent job at it. Nobody deserves to pass away because they 'don't have money'.

First, the US pays almost twice what any other country pays on health care, yet it's the only advanced nation on earth not to cover all citizens. The majority of bankruptcies is for health care costs, & the majority of those are working people who had heath care. The HC insur. system is broke & getting worse. If you only see it in the terms you described you haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg.

There are a lot of good things in this bill which have nothing to do with the situation you describe, including guarantees for those with insurance, prohibition of the "preexisting condition" discrimination, increased focus on preventative care, allowing insur. co's to cross state lines, mandating "clear" language in insur. co. policies fine print, and a sliver of real competition via the public option. And the list goes on. Things you won't ever hear from any Republican or insur. co.

That's the beauty of the public option. Don't trust gov't or private insur. co.'s. Let'em both have a plan & let people choose which they prefer. And by the way, contrary to GOP propaganda a public option would not drive insur. co's out of business. It has not done so in any other nation. Sadly, the public option in the bill would only get about 3% of the market. The vast majority of people would not even qualify for that option.
