Be careful letting him kneed his claws in you. Cats carry ringworm and also Cat Scratch Fever which could be deadly if not taken care properly.

two year's ago an orange tabby came up to my car at my condo late at night, i work second shift, she didi the exact same thing, with the purring and greeting. i took her in, even though we already have a (rescue) cat in the house, and took care of her. she obviously was just dumped in our condo complex. 3 day's later my next door neighbor asked to take the kitty,she was taken to the vet, and was found to be healthy, and has a nice new home!

There isn't any stopping that. It's a old habit carried over from kitten hood with mother. Kittens when suckling on their mom would knead her belly to help the milk flow. But it usually means they are very happy.

You can try to divert said behavior using a horizontal cat scratch post/plank and hopefully have a cat that loves catnip rubbed into it.

Aww, that's the sweetness thing ever. I would take him/her home with me in an instant. Most stray cats run away from humans when noticed. Whoever left it in the woods can and will burn in hell. You don't do that to a poor animal. It's bad enough it's done to humans sometimes. There needs to be more kinded people liek you out there, then this world would be a much better place for humans and animals.

Aw, poor creature. So friendly; you can tell he or she's been socialized. Somebody's cat once, but fallen on rough times. Probably had fleas or some other problems (the only downside of friendly strays!). Giving this cat a warm home, feeding it and cleaning it up = a very good deed.
