this guy is my new idol. i just hope i can do the math but i love music. i just hope its a carrer i can make a decent living on with maby a 2nd major carrer. just tryna find more info on the subject mostly
i have this annoying buzz noise that i cant seem to mix out of ths song. if anyone could give me some tips as to how to mix that noise out plz respond to this comment.
Love it! I'm a reason user and i really want an Akai Mpc, i got turned down at the art institute of Houston for being a wetback even though I am as American as they come i have lived my whole life here but i guess all that matters is the paper that says I am. I will have to learn it from the streets or the internet lol whatever it takes.. thanks for the video!
Reasons Redrum is better for beats. You can get samples at different pitches with a little more ready availability on this but you can taylor the samples better on Redrum.
@dtsjr1227 How am I a Sad Lil Hater? and how you know Im little, you prejudging fool!!! What in the relevance of music history does chopping up another persons recorded music to a sample pad and pressing a single button in time with a pre recorded drum loop have?? Samplings for 2 year olds in a devolving 2 year ods world... and any audio engineer in the game can produce an album it aint hard dude doesnt mean he has extensive creative talent...
@TitanHB Like i said sad lil hater , u need 2 check urself "fool". The only 1 to prejudge is ur sad self . You question another person ability and creative talent on on a 7min video that was produced by a school(that pays him) that feels he has the skills 2 educate beginning students in 1 aspect of the music game. And haters always have 2 defend themselves when ever their own inadequacies r questioned!
@KaslarProductions why is that cutting corners? People said the same thing about synthetic cubism, "Well Picasso really isnt making art because he took some already made news papers and glued them to a canvas" Why is that cutting corners? there is still composition, editing arrangement, choosing the right chops, throwing the right fx on chops and then mixing. Its just another style of working.
@joshmolina3 you are analysing what I said the wrong way and giving irellevent analogies.... The "cutting corners" part has to do with sound synthesis. I will use your picasso reference to explain. yes he used existing materials, yes it is still art. but that IS cutting corner because he did not manufacture every material he used. same thing here. He didn't produce a single sound, never once did he tweak an analog synth or record an acoustic drumset. HE ONLY ARRANGED. which = cutting corners
@KP who cares whether he just arranged pre existing sounds? i could say the same thing about a guitar player. There are 12 notes on a guitar and 4 octaves of those notes. All a guitarist is doing is re arranging those same notes everyone else has used since the guitar was invented and making their own song with them. do painters manufacture their paints? wouldnt that then be cutting corners? i think people have a hard time accepting this style because their generation did things different.
@joshmolina3 they mix there own colors and thats the same premise. I'm not saying that only arranging the track is any less legitimate as a work of music. but it is only half the game. All I'm saying I have less respect for that method because I've experienced both sides of it and not only working on the easier part of the musical process. And for the record a hate guitarist.everyone and their mom playes the guitar. but in the guitarists defense, manuly sequencing with fingers is the diffrnenc
Watching this video just made me interested in making beats. This is a really good video. I see an engineer does more then making people sound good. They can make beats too!!!..... AWESOME!!!!....
lol A drum machine can produce as complex an arrangement as a set of drums. It just requires patience and skill from the operator. The music of today is totally dominated by electronic and virtual instruments, just face it. I'm not saying i don't appreciate the time and effort it takes to learn a traditional instrument though.
I know exactly what you mean man. The thing I like about Traditional Instruments is that aspect of learning the instruments and I like that traditional feeling.
i agree, these things are great for hiting up on the road but for a full production u need a real sequencer/editor.. Go a step further and get the mpd16 akai pads, usb connection.... so, now u got the pads but a big screen audio editor/sequencer infront of you...kool...
can anyone tell me what is the difference between audio engineering and sound engineering?Thank you..

If I got a degree in sound recording tech, would I be able to work in places, not JUST in a studio? Like a video game company, or movie. tv etc..

@intervalkid Definitely love redrum, The NNXT is pretty awesome too, especially when you throw a few in a combinator and layer chops.

I don't have much respect for people who sample from songs.....
The real talent is in creating your own sounds from programming synths or recording from a microphone...... not taking pre recorded music...
I know it takes a great deal of practice to arrange tracks too, I'm not saying he's bad.... but it IS cutting corners
