  • Songs like this are what make the world that much greater. It warms my heart to see that other people appreciate this.

Bioshock and Fallout 3 developers could not have done a better job in their music genre. I wish music like this was still made.

  • IF THEY ARE STILL WRITING SONGS LIKE THIS , I"M AFRAID THEY ARE SLIPPING PAST ME . Eddie Wright .

  • This song set the perfect mood for Bioshock... the most perfect song for the most perfect game

  • Bioshock music

  • He's Belgian :p

  • My grandmother listents to Salsa and me of 14 years olds listent this XD

  • I like this version and Bobby Darin's version equally.

    Suck it, fags.

  • @seriousbusiness47 suck what??!! cus i am fag

  • @gruulam It was meant to be rhetorical. I'm not actually expecting anyone to suck anything.

  • oh, music. so relaxing and heartfelt, love.

  • I remember when i watched a france/italy movie in 2003 called "dreamers", i got so turned on! by this beautiful song while the hot eva green were "dancing" accompanied by it. What a moment

  • Bobby Darin ain't got shit on Django. No offense, of course, but this version of the original tune is incredibly moving.

  • @revolutionroom agreed. there both great songs but this one is way better

  • When i play bioshock, i play very slow the beginning in the Lighthouse because i love the music. haha

  • I think that the violin (Grapelli) contributes just as much as the guitar.

  • why did charles trenet have to leave us...

  • 16/9/'10 The cut is great and Django's solo is also great but what with the photo shown on the video!

  • @113355ism The photo is from the Bioshock videogame and the song is in the official soundtrack. Quite honestly, I think the developers raided my parents' record collection...not that I'm complainging.

  • Relaxing ^__^

  • beautiful

  • thanks for the upload, such a great song, I love Django, hope it's ok to share on my blog

  • The music really creates an amazing eerie mood in Bioshock and Fallout 3! I know the Tower of Terror ride was where I first discovered that kind of dark atmosphere with echoing music from a by-gone era.

  • Got to love this music, and in fact, all of Rapture's music.

  • Im so glad Bioshock and Fallout 3 got me into this music

  • And Mafia, who was first to introduce his masterpieces.

  • @Quezcotl oddly enough, bioshock and mafia were both by the same developers

  • Not spamming or anything but I have the bioshock remix on my channel. yes i love this song too :)

  • They don't make music like this anymore, that's for damn sure.

  • agreed my friend...its all this kesha bologna :|

  • omg.....thank you :') i've been listening to rapture radio and this came on...i've been searching for this song since bioshock came out...actually since they played it in a mr. bean movie...again thank you c:

and lawl @fleury150 ending comment xD

  • People give all the credit to django, but the violin carries this piece imho. there are even parts where i feel the guitar gets in the way 2:30 in particular. wouldn't listen to it if i didnt love it tho great post.

    PS DEATH TO ALL SPLICERS!!

  • @fleury150 What a stupid comment. This song is amazing. Especially the violin. The whole song is based off the violin , of course people give credit to Django, he has a totally unique approach to every song he contributes . Django is not getting in the way, but paving the way, don' t talk shit on Django, any virtuoso violinist could play this mellow tune, but no other guitar player at the time could contribute what django did in this song. Go fuck you over opinionated kook.

  • i love to play this song on a hot day

  • Awesome! One of the best Belgian musicians playing one of the best French songs ever!! Love it!

  • Stephane et Django... Merci la technique d'avoir immortalise ceci!

  • Thank you, your highness, for posting this. "Le Mer" is one of my favorite songs of all time. This is an exquisite rendition of it. A true genius performing one of the world's great songs.

  • Django Reinhart was and still is one of the best jazz guitar players. He is admired by younger american music lovers.

  • i'm from france i don't play much jazz, or swing etc. But i got a plenty of influences in my guitar playing and django is truely one.

  • I love it! 5/5 thanks for the upload! ^^
