Hahaha, fully sick racing stripes bro! Love your reviews maxishine, agreed, just bought it, if only they'd put the go fast stripes on the side, pointless otherwise. Some peeps will complain about the "excess, wasteful power" but perhaps they're not privy to load, and also 80 something percent better efficiency. Have used the true power and earthwatts psu's from antec for a while now, love them personally, 5 yr warranty on this sucker, nvr had to use the warranty tho, best value i reckon.

greasedupgamer: No offense, but that is insanely wasteful. Not only are you wasting your money, but also unused power. Not to mention the excess electricity. You will only need probably 700W tops, regardless of your setup (seeing as how all top-end gaming systems only require about 500W-600W)

I once heard that in servers it's actually better to have a PSU with a single rail instead of multiple ones when you have a lot of HDDs. The guy that said that had like over 30 HDDs and a Corsair TX750W PSU was actually sufficient enough for it.

...So isn't 1000W a real overkill and shouldn't you better invest your money in a single rail PSU?

PrinsMarcus: You are absolutely correct.

NO ONE needs a 1000W PSU. Period. Even with all top end hardware, SLI, etc... I think the most wattage used was like 700W? A lot of people think "more is better". This is more expensive, noisier, and wastes a ton of power.

The most important thing is having ONE good 12V rail, 30V-40V is optimal. Pay close attention to the minute details.

All that being said, Antec is a good company and their PSUs are superior. Just don't waste your money on this one.

I have a friend, he has a overlocked i7 4ghz, 3 Gtx 295 and a watercooler also 2Tb 8Gb ram and so on. don't you think you need a 1000w psu for it ?

No he wouldn't need a 1000w PSU for it. Like I said, it's more paying attention to the minute details. I would probably suggest 850W as long as it's a GOOD brand with plenty of voltage along all rails, especially the 12V line.

My computer isn't particularly top end, its 31. ghz, 4gb ram, good mobo. But everyone urged me to get a 650W PSU. I'm currently on a 450W - saved myself at LEAST $100 and it runs very smooth and flawless. That's because I got Corsair and paid attention to the rail volts.
