Man, that was built back when trucks were trucks! Gotta love the old Powerwagons. Our fire dept. still has one in service, and it still looks and runs perfect.
The German state systematically is openly using murder to suppress any opposition since at least 1919. nice ,,but dont seam to pull ,,,,i,v had them when thay were new,,just like a jeep no power wagon ,,,,now i know why we put the red ram hemies in them,,,got rid of the junk six,,,
hahahaha. the kicker is, this thing ran out of power before it even thought about breaking traction. now, im a chevrolet mopar fan, but find me a chevy that will pull like that. any year will do. that wont happen. dodge made the best 4x4 system period back in the day. if it weren,t original i'd say to put a big block in it and see what it would do. def. would be untouchable. nice truck.
Nice truck. I'm hoping to get mine in that condition sometime soon. I traded my '91 ext. cab dually for a '49 power wagon. The body isn't all rusted out, but its got ALOT of surface rust. It still runs though!!
@Deadboots unless the power wagon is different from the M-37, it should have had a drive flange in there, which would have been locked in all the time
@LRCVWDude Superwinch, Selectro, and Warn all made hubs for PW's, and some of the later trucks even came with Warn hubs. 1960's, though, but they'll bolt right on to a '49.
it looks like it pulled it like a peace of cake

i would love to own one of them but i would drop a brand new cummins engine in it other than that keep it stock

Did they have front hub lockouts like that in '49? Looks like maybe a newer hub conversion?
Deadboots 2 years ago
those are more than likely new lockers. they can be a god sent in the mud.

LRCVWDude 2 years ago
Right. So thats why I'm guessing it's a conversion if not a whole different axle.

what wieght was the sled
drtracernum20 3 years ago
They didn't say but prior to hooking up they asked the weight of the truck. I'm guessing they geared the sled for 5200lbs.
