It's so sad to see the hurt on Rodney's face, he's the most passionate character in the show, and the one who everyone looks to, to solve a problem. You're right, they're (mostly) not his fault, but when he fails, people die. He finally quits deflecting it in Sunday and when everyone has tried and failed in The Last Man, he spends his entire life and then some to not fail.

It's true Mckay lost alot of friends: Carson but then he came back, four scientists in "Hot Zone", another in "The defiant one", Dr. Weir (sort of), The gate dile guy in one of the seiges, he said lost a dog in "Letters from Pegasus", the guy that flrw the broken ship in "Grace Under Presure". well, Mckay did'nt really "kill" so many people. Most of them where only " wrong place, wrong time" Like the virus lab or the two scientist on "submersion" but however I think Mckay should fell guildy about it because he did'nt raise the shield on time for Elizabeth, did'nt do his job properly with the explosive tumor and did'nt sacrifice himself like Wilson.

But for me his big mistake was that guy from acturus and the replicator on season 4

I think you've got a perfect symbiosis between the pain of *not* being able to save people to the number of times he *has* been able to do it, and how it still must haunt him so much when it doesn't work.
