  • As a little girl ... my daughter used to dance with me to this song ( standing on my feet ) ...

Now with her wedding upcoming ... there is no doubt that this will be the daddy/daughter song ...

Thanks Brian for a great song that allowed us some great memories ...

  • Seriously, one of the best groups & harmonizers. Their songs were top of the charts,on (am) radio alot, I remember as a child. Something about the 60's decade inspired NEW, genuine, exciting, great music and lyrics--of all sorts. I knew it then.

  • Beach boys always had the best harmonies. Great surf, sun, and fun music!!!

  • This reminds me of this sweet Hottie from Jersey that I use to surf with in Fl. years ago

  • This puts a smile on my face! :)

  • one word.... eargasm

  • Damn, awesome memories!

  • tons of 60's poon tang for these boys ...

  • brian wilson, like a boss

  • Better than Adam Levine 2 nights ago, no disrespect Maroon Five, Different venue and all, i know, But the Beach Boys with BRIAN got a huge ovation at 2012 Grammys, and sounded great... wow gave me chills, MIKE OUT FRONT LEADiN, Brian Singin, Al and Bruce helpin out, was like old times again. What a night, Glen Campbell, Paul Mcartney, Tony Bennett, We Boomers were in our glory. And that Powerhouse Adele...As the Mighty Dells once said "Oh What a night".

  • Anyone notice that one girl scream right after Brian sings "my woody" ? This song's great

  • Surfer Girl, The Beach Boys and This Boy, The Beatles-pure class, great harmonies.

  • Brian:Do you love me,do you surfer...girl

    Girls:AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • The Beach Boys are so perfect!

  • No monitors on stage, either. That this group or the Beatles got such a good live sound with no monitors is just amazing.

  • Damn, that WAS live! At first I wasn't sure, Brian sings so in-tune that I was sure it must be lipsynched, but when he chuckles in the middle I knew it was for real. Awesome!

  • I cannot believe that Brian was a little self conscious about singing in falsetto. He literally sounds like an angel.

  • ouch my ears!

  • this song is so great listen to those harmonys nothing come close to that today pure pitch

  • Love = then!! Lol I'm sure he performed love beautifully too!

  • @carcrazies he he yes I think you're right actually. You're very observant! I love these early clips. Brian performed beautifully love, his voice was note perfect it seemed. I can often see him directing the band whilst they're performing; he could easily hear any bum note/ beat and as we know, he was ways striving for perfection!!

  • Yes! It's hilarious! Watch carefully! From the time the song starts, Mike Love is blatantly flirting with girls in the audience; he's smiling and nodding, like he's holding court. Brian appears to look at his left hand on his fret board several times, but he's really glancing at Mike and getting pissed. Brian rarely sang lead; it probably was really annoying that Mike couldn't stop his routine while Brian sang a beautiful ballad. At 1:23, Brian finally catches Mike's eye and... (continued)

  • gives him what must have been a reprimanding look. Mike stops singing, looks chastened, and then he looks back at Dennis and laughs. At 1:30, while Mike's back is turned, Brian winks very elaborately at someone in the audience, making fun of Mike's flirting. Mike turns back around and initially doesn't realize what happened. Then someone in the audience evidently responds to Brian's big wink--that's what Brian laughs at 1:36. Then Mike realizes that while he was laughing... (continued)

  • at Brian, Brian was making fun of Mike and winning over the audience! Then watch Mike: he looks awkward, stops singing, cocks his head, and sulks. He also turns away from Brian. Then he sort of recovers and they finish the song. Then afterward, they exchange a look, and both of them have clenched fists. I think Mike is repulsive, and I love the fact that Brian put him in his place.

  • Brian laughing at something at 1:36? :D

  • @KreeshaMe

I didn't know to use "Reply" on the YouTube page, but I posted a long answer to your question about Brian laughing about something at 1:36. He was laughing; if you watch closely, you can see a battle going on between him and Mike all the way through the song, and that's what it was about.

  • Brian WAS shy about making them scream. He was shy, insecure and had terrible stage fright. This was months before his first nervous breakdown. In videos from this concert, friction between him and other band members is apparent. In this one, he gets annoyed with Mike (who is obviously flirting with girls in the audience); Mike turns and looks back at Dennis and laughs; Brian gives him a dirty look at the end. During "Little Deuce Coupe," Brian yells at Dennis; he was on the verge of losing it.

  • I am a huge Beach Boys fan.. I was born in 1983

  • @SpriggZ Brian sang the falsettos on all the early stuff and many of the lead vocals on ballads. Mike sings mostly bass parts and several leads on more uptempo numbers. His voice was a bit more "nasally", Brian's voice was much more angelic and pure, IMO. :)

  • there so good love it i'm 49

  • these are,if not mistaken, the only vids of Brian in the BB with a good voice live. I LOVE them vids. Harmonies and Brian's little smirk... As if he's shy about making them scream. Good stuff !!!!

  • These are the days before AutoTune and Lip Syncing. Pure sounds that we grew up with .1964 was a junior/senior in High School. Surfing from Santa Barbara to Malibu. Cruising State Street up to the Blue Onion Drive-In with your honey and the Beach Boy's on the radio. OMG how good it was!!! Takes me back to those days. One year later in the Marine Corp and on my way to Vietnam. Out of the Marines in 1969 and two tours in Vietnam but still loving the Beach Boys. To this day they are the Best!

  • @Refugio93117 Thank you for serving our country. ...And loving great music.

  • @Refugio93117 nice memories dude

  • @Refugio93117 Semper Fi brother. I was an 0331/0311 in afghan 2008 and it was a rough tour but i can't imagine what it was like there. And the beach boys Go Harrrdddd !

  • @Refugio93117 glad you made it brother, we all love you.

  • @Refugio93117 Semper Fidelus

  • @Refugio93117 me too. vietnam--class of '68. still love the BBoys.

  • Please correct me - but I think this is the live Beach Boy's performance that was played in association with the Beatles first US concert broadcast. In Feb 64, the Beatles were recorded live. On Mar 14&15, they broadcast it to theaters across the country. The show opened with Leslie Gore, then the BB, then an intermission, finally the Beatles. If so, this was recorded live at the NBC studio's in Burbank.

  • why is he holding such a small microphone?

  • This is chill, love the falsetto. So oldies.

  • Love these "Live 64," clips. This is the boys @ their most vibrant, beautiful, so full of life moments (artistic-wise)..before so much that lie ahead of them in life. More than touching to me...Thank you for the wonderful clips.
