I am using a pair of eggbeaters on a common boom .the mast mount preamp is an Icom AG-35 and the the feedline is LMR 400. mine is a simple setup but not as effective as a dual band hand held and an arrow. you can track the bird using the arrow as a turn style type antenna and hold it for a much longer period of time. the astronomer N1ASA uses this setup most effectively as do a lot of other hams.on a good pass your lucky to squeeze about 3 contacts from the eggbeaters.good luck on the LEO sats
Good job..totally exhilirating when making the first contact. I remember mine well.
The adrenaline still kicks in even today after making hundreds of contacts using my 2 trusty HT's, a homebrew arrow or the now famous ( at least in Europe ) IOio loop ant from EA4CYQ
Welcome to the world of Satellite may you have many many more contacts and hours of fun
The Arrow antenna, Actually has a Tapped handle. if you take the foam thing off, there are tapped holes that a normal tripod mount for a camcorder or camera will simple screw into.
Ive actually found I have a harder time with the tripod then just holding the thing up.
Dude Good Vid but whats with the camera angle. Always face front too better stage etiquette you appear to be nicely dressed and handsome !!! Congrats

Glad Leo (W7JPI) was your first contact. Great ham, I've contacted him many times.

Youre totally right. After all a pass last about 10 minutes. And holding the antenna with hand makes it a lot easier to change polarisation.

Nice video. Good job getting on satellite. I just built my own antenna so I hope to test it out on a good pass of AO-51. 73, KD7MNI.
