he has great goals and i hope he achieves them but nasa? im not an expert but i know for sure to be an astronuaght you need to atlest have been in the airforce and even then pilot or not you must have eyesight to get into nasa especially anything dealing with flight, he could drive and do everything perfectly but i dont see anyone handing him a pilots liscence.
He's currently beating Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time while recording it all 100% Blind it's most impressive! his YT channel is MegaTgarrett look up his videos sometime!
Amazing you are such a inspiration a blind man that can play games, go to college, and possibly go to space! Just amazing I wish you the best of luck Terry.
Hi Terry, I wish you the best of luck. When I entered Engineering school, I'm a seeing person, I was drawn to computer engineering since I'm a computer geek, but mechanical and electrical engineering did intimidate me, all that math! Bravo, I salute you, good luck on joining your fellow American engineers. As I fellow engineer, I welcome you brother. You gave me inspiration to go beyond.
Hope you attain all that are your dues, I wish you stay happy and healthy!!
He is a Legend! Even if blind he has done far more than enyother persone has. He deserves to live a long life and achive ewerything he desieres and just make the moast of his life. :)
I bet he enjoys everything beautiful more than I could even with a few operational eyeballs. He also probably enjoys being able to beat games that I struggle with :( God I love him.
I want to say that he has one hell of a dream and I sincerely hope he accomplishes it! Gender, disability, ethnicity, and culture have nothing to do with what you can accomplish in life. The only thing that matters is your own desire to fulfill those dreams, and your willingness to go above and beyond to do so. I say good luck to Terry and I hope he is able to accomplish his dreams, and reach his goals in life.
@builderman1q2w3e4r Um maybe because there's really no point in opening them? Also I wud think if you're blind u can't see dust particles or insects that could be flying through the air and into ur eye. Of course I doubt he always has his eyes closed like that.
@builderman1q2w3e4r I would imagine as time passed, he probably just used his eyelids less and less and now he rarely opens them. no real need, and it might be easier to visualize things if they're closed. just a guess though!
Now this is one heck of a person. He's so strong-willed and really ambitious. I'm super happy that he can enjoy what he has in life and be peristant in his goals.
Terry, you give me hope for American culture... glad there are still people like you out there. Good luck with the degree, and I'm looking forward to reading about your exploits as an astronaut (sadly, likely in the private sector, R.I.P NASA) in the future!
@samlincoln ya think? it's all a manmade enviroment and the most important skill is to make spatial maps in his mind which he already does routinely as a blind person.
@conceitarturo I guess we'll have to wait and see who's right then. Currently I think the job is difficult enough as it is without the handicap of visual impairment. It's a nice thought though.
You know the japanese are making some sort of technology that can give back the sight of blind people ( probably cannot be to severe blindness, it has only worked at the longest for about 10 seconds,) But when it works, Terry should be the first person to have it.
@sn0wzor what do you mean? You've got to be blind, not to see how negative your comment is.
"That's like saying: Good luck, obama. But a black president? I don't know about that" or
"Good luck, Mark Inglis. But a double amputee on everest? I don't know about that."<--- Google it if you don't know who mark inlis is. I've seen a lot more unlikely shit happen than a blind man in space. What exactly is it you think makes it impossible for a blind man to go to space?
@kyrrekrunk seriously..a blind person is totaly imcompetent for being in space. they would need to make everythink usable for a blind person which would be very expensive..plus you cant hear anything in space, so he could only smell and taste..its just impossible in my opinion.
Absolutely nothing is impossible, that's the problem with people these days. You don't set high enough goals and aspirations and just assume you are doomed to fail. If I had a dime for every time someone told me I'd never amount to anything, or I'd never accomplish my goals, well I'd be rich. I've accomplished what I have by taking all the negativity and adversity and channeling it into my goals and dreams.
Maybe if this guy shows up NASA will start sending people to space again. I hope he didn't hear the news that day though.
