@Maffe96 It's so bloody filthy (it needs a good rinsing) one would imagine so. If you download an anti-virus or have one, then you have nothing to worry about- usually.
Fulci (he was) and Romero are the best Zombie Directors. Romero must be make a Resident Evil movie, but Hollywood denied (Resident Evil 1). A script from Romero was ready. And Paul W. S. Anderson make only shit without atmosphere
Atmospheric movie but the effects are appalling. The zombies look like they are caked in dried oatmeal - one more thing that none of these movies seem to include and that is the nauseatingly offensive smell that a dead body in putrefaction would emit; a zombie can never sneak up on you unless you had a severe head cold. A real dead body at various stages of decomposition is distended, discolored and far more frightening than anything the cadre of zombie film makers has ever contrived.
@facesofdeathfan You've made some valid points but I still must disagree. Although dead bodies emit an overwhelming and disgusting odour, in scientific tests carried out in South America, re-animated corpses actually emit a masking agent from their sweat glands to cover the smell and make it easier to sneak up on their prey.
This movie is so rich in atmosphere, I can smell the lushly vivid scenery and the graveolence of the zombies, these movies had real rocks, wood, sun, water, mud and all the resplendent supporting organic tapestry that nature provides - Fulci drenched his films with these qualities. Creaky coffins, old lanterns, flash lights, dank dusty caverns etc add immesurably to the feel of a movie. Today's film industry is a hyper choreographed CGI laden mawkish shit fest.
I have to say that (in my opinion), this is is the best opening track for a horror movie ever made. I still get chills and uncontrollable laughter when i hear or see the opening sequence. First watched this movie 17 years ago, probably watched it 40 times since then. If you're a fan of zombie flicks, do yourself a favor and watch this right now. Peace out :)
@drroxxo1 Hey man. I Love Riz Ortolani! Cannibal Holocaust is one of my favourite horror movies. AMAZING soundtrack! "The Crucified Woman" is also another favourite! Let me know if you have any other suggestions :)
@PsychedelicFerret Agree 100% I love how Ortolani's music is in complete juxtaposition to the images on screen. Cannibal Holocaust might possibly be my favorite movie of all time. It's right up there with Man Bites Dog.
The uncut version makes all the difference in the world. Seriously people, if you're planning on getting this masterpiece classic on DVD, do not settle for the uncut version! Keep looking for the TRUE version! Also, beautiful music. Melodic, eerie, full of atmosphere. Perfect zombie soundtrack.
Remember the fat zombie who fell off the boat? I've been told that there is a scene where he washed back up on land. I've never seen it. Does that actually exist? Who's seen it?
I believe the scene may exist on some edition of the DVD. Or maybe Fulci shot the scene and the film no longer exists. Im not sure, but the ending of the film was scripted to have an army of Zombi's rise from the water.
@littlegplumkin yeah according to the info on my dvd lucio shot half the movie and got in a huge argument with the producer, ending with lucio abandoning the film alltogether it was finished (horribly) by the producer:P
@littlegplumkin haha the sequel is actually a pretty good movie, its downright hillarious in some parts and a good watch with some like minded friends!

Still one of the all-time greatest Zombie movies! This is the greatest movie theme song ever spawned but reminds me of the terrifying times i watched this movie as a kid. Definately a movie that'd make you wanna become a vegetarian
300.000 VIEWS??????? I knew people around the world loved Zombies but i didn't expect this many people listening to this tune. Gives me some hope for the future of humanity, before we all turn to ZOMBIES!!!!
@hunk84 aye totally understand where your comin from, i work in mental health n often do 24hr shifts in the community, zombies are no threat to me n sometimes feel like i am one anyway when i stumble home to my bed n people stare at me in the street thinkin 'look at him, what's he on' ...fulci was a genius when it came to zombie flicks
Dang, 24hr shifts...last time I had to work a shift that long was a day before thanksgiving. They wanted to make sure I had worked for and earned that holiday. Hehe well working that hard would make anyone a walking zombie. I say let them stare and see what working long and hard can do. As for Fulci, I agree, his movies are...the best. I'm a huge Romero fan and I won't compare because well I love both their movies and to me, both create amazing zombie movies.
@hunk84 i totally agree, tryin to compare Fulci to Romero is pointless, they both make great zombie movies but do it so very different. I absolutely love italian exploitation movies (especially 1976-84) n i love Fulci's sense of a very 'old' n 'othterwordly' menace (obviously inspired by gothic authour H.P.Lovecraft) yet Romero delivers a more 'social' approach, using horror as a comentery of the state of the world around us...i cud go on...
You said it perfect, I couldn't have said it better myself. Both are great directors of zombie movies and both their own unique ways of making their movies. Hehe you said you could go on, well personally, I wish you would. The way you explain the different points is great. Anyone who wants to complain about who is better, should read your comment.
@hunk84 thank you, i just love them both for all the opposite reasons...Romero's zombies were never that visually scarey, but they looked 'cool' like in the old 70's american comics (which titles escape me now) i loved as a kid...then Fulci came along n sent it back to a more primitive viseral experience. Fulci's zombies not only looked scarey but reeked of death...Fulci's zombies were the first zombies in films that actually scared me more than the gore
@hunk84 ...n also, i relate to Romero's 'social' comment in Dawn of The Dead ...even thou we live in highly populated/muti-cultural area's, no one person really knows their neighbour, which creates a sense of paranoia, one in what is directly in our 'zone' n a second which is the 'greater' outside influence which is the 'unknown' quantity... i grew up as a teenager in 'thatchers britain', even thou Romero was commentin on america's paranoia, he was spot on, on what we felt the same in the uk
my dream is me and my friend on top of a room like dawn of the dead 1978 in the mall take anything and we all have sniper and all guns going in the mall killing the dead lol my other 2 dreams are be in the ufc be a south park character lol aw and i want to be chased by micheal myers as halloweens my fav film ever then dawn of the dead then zombi 2
Superb Soundtrack! I'll never forget as a kid, back in the mid 90's seeing this and going.."MAN, this is the best..." It goes so well with the movie. Talk about things and chemistry working out with a film and it's score...it's fate! ROCK ON!!
@NocturnalTerror Yep, no one does zombies like Romero! His first four were all awesome. Diary was a terrible waste of film and time but Survival made up for it.
This music instantly calls to mind the movie... And the movie in turn is still chilling to this day. Even the recollection of it. Not many horror films still hold that kind of lasting power. The original Night of the Living Dead is still definitely one of them.
@sansweet lol i know, Romero is awesome! His newer stuff has kind of slipped down the drain, Diary of The Dead was ok though, ever see Day of The Dead, the original that is lol
@NocturnalTerror Original "One Missed Call" was good, remake was shitty. All remakes are shitty and disappointing, I just pray they do't try and remake "Zombi"
@DeathLock420 oh god, any Fulci films remade would be awful. I liked the remake of Dawn of The Dead, but it's nowhere as good as the original. Ever seen a little diddy called Dead Alive?
Some of the best effects in movies EVER. This theme is so...gloomy yet cool. Loved the film ever since I saw it in 1981. Scared me so much I wanted to run from the movie theater!
This song will ALWAYS give me the creeps, reminds me of when I saw the movie for the first time at age 9. It was the first time I made it all the way home, without stopping! That started my long distance running career. And damn if this song was in my head when I made it home!
What I want to know is why I NEVER get sick of hearing this creepy track. This is an especially good upload btw. Should be played at every Holloween party- NO REMIXES!.

I wish there was a zombie outbreak so I can no longer have to look for a 9 to 5 job.

@RyunSharp
lol yeah I know what you mean. My job hours are 6am to 5pm. Zombies don't seem that bad compared to hard labor in the oilfield.
hunk84 1 year ago
@hunk84 aye totally understand where your comin from, i work in mental health n often do 24hr shifts in the community, zombies are no threat to me n sometimes feel like i am one anyway when i stumble home to my bed n people stare at me in the street thinkin 'look at him, what's he on' ...fulci was a genius when it came to zombie flicks
tenebrae70 1 year ago
@tenebrae70
I'm a huge Romero fan and I won't compare because well I love both their movies and to me, both create amazing zombie movies.
hunk84 1 year ago
@hunk84 i totally agree, tryin to compare Fulci to Romero is pointless, they both make great zombie movies but do it so very different. I absolutely love italian exploitation movies (especially 1976-84) n i love Fulci's sense of a very 'old' n 'othterwordly' menace (obviously inspired by gothic authour H.P.Lovecraft) yet Romero delivers a more 'social' approach, using horror as a comentery of the state of the world around us...i cud go on...
tenebrae70 1 year ago 2
@tenebrae70
You said it perfect, I couldn't have said it better myself. Both are great directors of zombie movies and both their own unique ways of making their movies. Hehe you said you could go on, well personally, I wish you would. The way you explain the different points is great. Anyone who wants to complain about who is better, should read your comment.
hunk84 1 year ago
@hunk84 thank you, i just love them both for all the opposite reasons...Romero's zombies were never that visually scarey, but they looked 'cool' like in the old 70's american comics (which titles escape me now) i loved as a kid...then Fulci came along n sent it back to a more primitive viseral experience. Fulci's zombies not only looked scarey but reeked of death...Fulci's zombies were the first zombies in films that actually scared me more than the gore
tenebrae70 1 year ago
@hunk84 ...n also, i relate to Romero's 'social' comment in Dawn of The Dead ...even thou we live in highly populated/muti-cultural area's, no one person really knows their neighbour, which creates a sense of paranoia, one in what is directly in our 'zone' n a second which is the 'greater' outside influence which is the 'unknown' quantity... i grew up as a teenager in 'thatchers britain', even thou Romero was commentin on america's paranoia, he was spot on, on what we felt the same in the uk

@hunk84 I feel sorry for you man. I wish life was easier so we could have more jobs and less work time.

Diary was a terrible waste of film and time but Survival made up for it.
sansweet 1 year ago
This music instantly calls to mind the movie... And the movie in turn is still chilling to this day. Even the recollection of it. Not many horror films still hold that kind of lasting power. The original Night of the Living Dead is still definitely one of them.
SillyPom 1 year ago
@NocturnalTerror oh man, One Missed Call was even worse. ^_^ best horror film ever made is the original Dawn of the Dead!
sansweet 1 year ago
@sansweet lol i know, Romero is awesome! His newer stuff has kind of slipped down the drain, Diary of The Dead was ok though, ever see Day of The Dead, the original that is lol

I hate when people put this down, it was such an original movie

@NocturnalTerror You mean it was a classic, not an original movie.

@sansweet sorry it wasn't your typical "One Missed Call" movie

@NocturnalTerror Original "One Missed Call" was good, remake was shitty. All remakes are shitty and disappointing, I just pray they do't try and remake "Zombi"
DeathLock420 1 year ago
@DeathLock420 oh god, any Fulci films remade would be awful. I liked the remake of Dawn of The Dead, but it's nowhere as good as the original. Ever seen a little diddy called Dead Alive?
NocturnalTerror 1 year ago
@NocturnalTerror Unfortunaly I haven't however I want to. And I have to agree about dawn of the dead, it slipped my mind.
