  • I can't believe that anybody ever let this idiot run the country.

  • makes sense

  • I do miss him...

  • Math prof showed the class this, makes sense... ah gotta love proofs

  • 13 People didn't understand. A proof is a proof!

  • For every proof in domain proven, a proof is logically equivalent to a proof implies that the proof is proven. Say something haters.

  • Thanks for uploading this piece of history.

  • JUSTIN BOSS NASTI SILVA

  • lol this is why Harper's PM now

  • He really fumbled his words there, but ya gotta love this guy! At least he didn't bend over and take it dry from the Americans when they came looking to steal our fresh water, and that was real ballsy. Harper would have given in to the Americans since he is one of their puppets. What about the time some goon retard got in his face whining and screaming about nonsense... Jean promptly tossed him like a trash bag before his guards could even get near him. DON'T MESS WITH JEAN. He'll fk you up!

  • @rezeve69 come on man, he sounds like dr. seuss

  • @rezeve69 No he just bent over and signed the Kyoto agreement!

  • The biggest thief in Canadain polictical history. He should be spending his retirement in jail. Makes Mulroney look like a choir boy. And on top of that he's a fucking imbecile.

  • :) whenever i see him i always get a ear to ear grin.

  • Harper has no proof for anything he does

  • @VeryHugeAss Well, on this he was right, there was no good proof and it was a good decision not to go to Iraq. We needed a proof that was a proper proof, and there wasn't a proof that was a proof because there was no way there could be because it was an unjustified war. He may sound funny, but he made the right decision for the right reasons.

  • @Mehtaphorical

    Yep.

  • @Mehtaphorical I believe this was actually him responding to corruption allegations.

  • @falconkirtaran It says in the description of the video it was regarding Iraq. Perhaps the posters of the video are misleading us as to the context. Do you recall this from an external source being from a news interview on corruption allegations?

  • @VeryHugeAss you're an idiot

    hes a smart man

don't let the accent fool you

    english sing his mother tongue

he learnt it in his twenties

  • ....Proofception?

  • truer words were never spoken

  • I am who is a bit confused on what is an what is not?

  • @VeryHugeAss keep crying you fucking closeted homosexual

  • @VeryHugeAss Well, there was laurier and a few others that were better than Chretien.

If you're going to say that Harper is a good one, just shoot yourself now.

  • Proofception

  • Chretien xD He always makes me laugh! Better PM then the journalist-phobic guy we have now -___- WHY DID THEY MAKE IGGY RUN?!

  • we need this guy back, he should replace that weimaraner ghost Harper... fok.

  • I miss the Liberals.

  • Hail Chretien, fuck iggy. Iggy is the reason I ddnt vote Liberal, no other reason

  • 8 proofs in 8 seconds.... now if he had choked 8 people in 8 seconds, he'd be epic, instead of a joke

  • @darkfyre2k7 Hahaha

  • @Smegma007 glad you like the comment lol

  • Well said!

  • Basically that was Chretien saying fuck Bush and his lies

  • @Algonquin81

actually this was from the liberal sponsorship scandal that Martin did on his party

  • @duffman50941 It was from the Iraq war

  • he was such a bad ass prime minister.

we need another suave french canadian in the PM's office

  • We have very high standards in Canada. Prob. the most successful Canadian male of the last 20 years, and I don't lie.

  • I remember one time, a reporter was giving him a hard time about something garbled that he said. He replied, "the Canadian people know what I mean." He was right.

  • Chretien needs to come back and run for liberal leader

  • This almost sounds like a tautology, which in Aristotelian logic is the highest form of truth (A=A) and is proof of itself, in itself.

  • As a Canadian, its great to see a French Canadian say shit like that.. Im sure it made sence to him.. and hell it probably would have made perfect sence if he could have said it in French lol..

  • and that, children, is why you need to learn what a proof is

  • @MegaMaxx37 accurate but go fuck yourself!

  • Chrétien. Definitely a good PM .. and one of the only PMs to step up to big ol bad ol USA down south! (Thank goodness!)

  • Our southern brethren complain about having dealt with stupid leaders, but the worst they had to deal with was George W. When it comes to making up your own language and being completely incomprehensible, Dubya has nothing on the Shawinigan Strangler!

  • Our southern brethren complain about having dealt with stupid leaders, but the worst they had to deal with was George W. When it comes to making up your own language and being completely incomprehensible, Dubya has nothing on the Shawinigan Strangler!

  • I miss Chretien

  • a proof is a proof is a proof is a proof a proof is a proof.

  • @TheEZPAXIIChannel Prove it.

  • @levanyzzuf when i have a good proof it is proven

  • @TheEZPAXIIChannel well thats proven

  • I was so disapointed with him as our Prime Minister. He changed once in office!

  • This should be made into an internet meme lol

  • Give THIS MAN the Nobel Peace Prize! Chretien! WE LOVE YOU!

Thank you for keeping Canada out of that awful, murderous war! May God Bless You Sir and your family!

  • @splashchampion

This is an amusing quote, but the topic was serious. We now need to come home from Libya, and stay out of all foreign wars. Canada should be a Middle Power like we were in the 50s, 60s and 70s. No fighting, just negotiation. I do not like the direction Canada has taken militarily in the last 10 years. We are NATO puppets, and yes men for the American military complex.

  • @splashchampion One word......falkens

  • Well his Epistemology is sound.

    ===

MDR

  • HAHAHAHA

WOW.....am I ever glad this yahoo is GONE!!!

  • proo' is aproo'.

  • where are you now when we need you?

  • love the man

  • I guess it's true that good proof is proven... to be proof.

  • Makes more sense then most the shit Harper says.

  • @Splinterfan Harper wouldn't have answered the questioned, "What kind of proof do I need? Sorry that's question number six I won't be taking any more questions for the day."

  • @Splinterfan Harper's words are in his actions. This is why we are the leading country in the G8

  • Impeccable logic.

  • after jean chretien was gone, the liberal party started on non-ending downward slope.

  • @NoNiceNamesLeft I think that perhaps he found that slope and took a run at it to get it started...

  • @NoNiceNamesLeft Now it's the party of the vanquished and delusional

  • This is my favourite Chretien moment! And I know exactly what he meant. He may not have been the most eloquent, but he was a smart enough man. Let me translate. " What kind of proof do I need that there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? I can't really say at this point, but I'll know it when I see it, and I haven't seen it yet!"

And turns out the world is still waiting for that proof! Thank you Chretien for keeping us out of Iraq.

  • 11 people don't know that a proof is a proof

  • QED

  • Proof he's a glue sniffer.

  • @mcleanartists LIKE

  • this doesnt prove anything! :(

  • he is explaining that he is poof that a poof is a poof because it is proven

  • It is hard to believe that this bozo was once Prime Minister of Canada.

I feel stupid for having voted for him. Boy, were we all suckered into his bullsh .....

  • @cheeriosinabowl Without this bozo leading us in 1995, Quebec wouldn't be with us now. Without his shrewd style which he developed as Justice Minister under Trudeau, Quebec would have surely seen a 'yes' majority.

  • @habbitz he was like a deer in the headlights, it was the rally in Montreal that saved us, not this crook.

  • @habbitz And what would the problem be with that

  • @MissD0916 It could potentially lead to a cascade of other provinces removed from Canada's political centre to move for separation...namely BC and then Alberta. Even if not, I personally would not like to cross an international border everytime I want to visit Montréal. And let's not forget about those Maritime provinces which would be completely isolated...

  • @cheeriosinabowl By we all, you mean Ontario and Quebec right?

  • And what is gibberish is gibberish. Are we all clear now?

  • What's a proof?

  • lmfao the comments here.

Chretien was a good guy who made the world laugh. He has a strong French Canadian accent so people assume he isn't fluent in English? ha. Come on. I grew up in Ottawa. Half the people I know talk like that. They're fluent.

He did a lot of great things for our country and did some pretty bold things just before he left. Things his successors decided to drop. They're the idiots.

We haven't had a stable government since him.

  • @spendiferouslochness Yes we have as soon as we tossed the liberals. Long live majority conservative

  • @MissD0916 Completely disagree. Harper's an ass who's making Canada look bad.

  • Chrétien was so stupid, Canadian should be ashamed, thank god, I'm Québécois : )

  • @vgtvgt01 so was chretien you idiot

  • @vgtvgt01: Actually bro all the rest of Canada IS also thanking God that YOU are Québécois :))) We are CANADIAN and PROUD OF IT!!

  • @vgtvgt01 I'm Canadian and proud of it! you got issues of your own

  • I'm no Cretien fan, but this is pure genius. If only Colin Powell had figured it out!

  • @Unclemoparman He refused to go into the IRAQ war. To see what it has turned out to be (a lie) he's a fucking genius. Oh wait .. you didn't bother to look into the context of what he was saying? You're a complete idiot.

  • @MadmanKillEmAll Jew baiting asshole.

  • If that doesn't remind us all what brought the Tories into power, nothing will. Scandals galore, arrogant politicians...just like now! The more things change, the more they stay the same. Now we're talking about another election to get rid of Harper. I say if both parties suck equally, pick one and ride them out, vote for a 3rd party you can really get behind, or shut the hell up.

  • ah back when I liked the Liberal party! go NDP

  • I miss Chretien. I frequently didn't agree with a lot of what he did, but you knew where he stood on issues.

Harper slithers around points like he's covered in mucus and is slowly changing Canada into the US.

    Fuck everything about that.

  • Featured on TV Tropes! =D

  • your a fucking looser, you were a discrace to the country (Canada) as Prime Minister.

  • A broken quote for the ages. Why hasn't this inspired memes yet?!

  • I fking miss this guy

  • Empeccable-Ness is empeccable

  • If only American politicians used such fine logic. We might actually make progress.

  • Can't argue with that logic...

  • WHAT AN AMAZING PRIME MINISTER!

  • Replace "proof" by the word "evidence" and what Jean is saying all makes sense. Jean is just doing a direct french to english translation here. "Preuve" != "Proof"

  • @mlgagno actualy it doesn't make to much sense. The question asked was probably aiming to know what was the proof. And he gave his phenominal explanation afterwards. It's pretty fucking funny.

  • @mlgagno

He's got lots of time now to work on his broken english..lol

  • Thumbs up if you lol'd at the thumbnail

  • Why is it so wrong for the Conservative federal government to build up our miltary. You think we'd be better off with a weaker military or none at all.

Remember the Great Tsunami in '04,Canada wanted to help but because our military equipment was outdated and this asshole,Chretien, cancelled some military projects after getting elected in the mid '90s,WE had to ask the AMERICANS to fly our people over to Thailand, Sri Lanka, etc to help those poor victims of the tsunami.Ya, thats leadership. NOT

  • @Etobeeshawn Even the US rents out AN-124 airlifters. There's nothing wrong with Canada doing the same or not buying American equipment. Regarding Afghanistan, they flew us out, and we provided LAV3's in places where they only had humvee's. It's called an alliance, you help each other out where the other is lacking. Unfortunately, militaries are usually first cut when needing to balance a budget. But Conservatives have burned out our troops as well. It's not like only Libs are to blame.

  • gipnfdl007, you're the one who needs to get your head out of your ass:

the U.S. DEBT has been around for many decades. the U.S. DEFICIT has only been around since sometime after 9/11. the DEFICIT was eliminated in the U.S. by Pres. Clinton (and thats only because the Republicans had control of both houses of Congress). In case you did not know, there is a difference between DEBT and DEFICIT. Read a book sometime, you might learn something

  • @Etobeeshawn The fiscal conservatives generally got America more into debt, and the "tax and spend" liberals generally got America less into debt. In 1950, US owed 2.2 trillion (WW2 and all), 1981 2.3 trillion, 1989 thanks to "Reagonomics" 5 trillion, 1992 6 trillion, 7 in 2001, the bank bailout cost 2.5 trillion in 2008 (more than WW2 did), housing bubble another 5 trillion, and the current total is 14 trillion, because of "fiscal conservatives." 21.5 including bailouts. So much for capitalism.

  • I have to say shivakrishnarana, you're all over the place in your arguments.

You know there is other sources for information other than the Convoluted Broadcasting Company (aka the CBC)

  • The only reason the federal government was able to balanace the budget was because they cut transfer payments to the provinces. They balanced the budget at the expense of the provinces, NOT because they were good financial managers

We have a deficit now because the Opposition made Harper spend our way out of a recession: the old tried and true left-way of thinking: spend more money, which never works.

Yes, Bush started the US deficit, but what has Obama done to correct that? Spend more money

  • @Etobeeshawn The ONLY and I mean ONLY good thing about the CONSERVATIVE Prime Minister Stephen Harper is that he at least knows not to increase troop levels in that waste of time called Afghanistan. Haper did want us to go into Iraq though and for that he cannot ever be completely be trusted. You want to talk about debt, how about another 37 billion for high tech planes, that we won't use. Yeah we're going to stop the Russians from taking over the Arctic with our superior air power. Get A CLUE !

  • @Etobeeshawn Why is it that when the Conservatives get into power they always want to spend money or do useless things ? High tech helicopters, high tech planes, change the constitution and give Quebec the right to use French as their official language (as if it isn't already) etc etc etc...

  • @shivakrishnarama would you rather us have an outdated military?

  • So my main argument here is, everytime a Liberal is in government, it always leads us to more financial ruins. Trudeau, Chretien, Mulroney (who was suppossed to be a Conservative), Dalton and David Miller all led the way to Canada paying a BIG Price to suit the minorities; to suit the special interest groups, etc., etc.

  • @Etobeeshawn Just to let you know, the Chretien government recorded 5 budget surpluses.

Atm, under Harper's government we're in a budget deficit.

Bush left the US in a budget deficit.

So yeah...what wer u sayin bout Liberals leading us into financial ruins? Yes, Trudeau did that. Mulroney only worsened it. But Chretien...wait. Budget surpluses! FIVE OF THEM! Only for Harper to wipe it out n bring us BACK to the deficit.

  • Okay, first of all, anybody who doesn't like what I say, well, too bad, This is still Canada (barely) and I still have the right to say what I want, even if you don;t like it

Secondly, if you don't like what I say, you're most likely a bleeding-heart liberal anyway, or you're not from Canada originally. Finally, you DO NOT need a high IQ or low IQ to spend more than you bring in. I live in Ontario and thanks to Dalton McGOOF, we are now a have-NOT province. Have a nice life in fairyland

  • I like the part where he says proof.

  • @Brando2600 Well get the hell out of our beautiful Canadian soil FAG. We don't want Redneck pieces of trash like you contaminating our soil with stupid ideas like unregulated Wall Street markets, Banks and Insurance. We don't want our health care regulated by Insurance Companies either. Canadians also don't want to spend Trillions of dollars propping up Muslim nations all over the Middle East either. We don't want 14 Trillion dollar deficits. Move to Texas or Mississippi Jackface !

  • @shivakrishnarama

Did you reply to the right guy?

  • @Brando2600 No, I didn't. Sorry partner my message was meant for that etoshawn loser who wants Canada to be like the United States.

  • All I can say is that I would have prefered George W. Bush as prime minister of canada instead of this asshole. Him and Trudeau I SPIT ON BOTH OF YOU.

What the two of you (and to a degree Mulroney) did to my country I will not forgive for as a long as I'm alive. I hope you both rot in hell

  • @Etobeeshawn I guess you would have wanted low iq bush to plunge us into a massive debt/recession

  • OMG LMFAO

  • Everytime I hear Jean Chretien it just makes me think of Johnny Gardhouse's impression of him on Comedy Now. LMAO

  • i have never heard a bigger tool in my life

  • written on hand: PROOF = PROOF...EXPLAIN TO NATION

  • SAID PROOF 8 TIMES

  • chretien is amazing

  • Behold!

The mind that crushed the Seperatist movement!

  • @gundamWWW Crushed the separatist movement? He almost lost the country to them. The separatists had never been more popular than when Chretien was in charge.

  • Point made, instead of listening to the seperatists and getting rid of the monarchy and giving Canadians a chance to elect a govenor general, he pushed them to the edge. If there was another referendum now, the Yes side would win.

We have to move into the 21rst century.

  • Can't... stop... watching... repeatedly...

  • @Illuminatus42 haha this still makes me laugh hysterically after all these years, this and him stangling that guy

  • Hmm, I thought he was for the war...... and the reported asked him what the proof was and he says the proof is (something anyone calls) the proof. Can't argue with proof, if it's called proof, it must have been proven, so based on that I think we attack Iraq.

  • Well that settle's it

  • remixed at "proven-proof ytmnd com" ^_^

  • way more entertaining than harper lol.

  • now I know what a proof is

  • I wonder if he wants more pie????!!! Lol epic!

  • They didn't call him the 'Teflon Man' for nothing.

  • Makes sense to me!

  • The thing that is mind blowing is not trying to figure out what that means but what kind of an idiot voted for someone like that

  • @ruud3339 the same kind of an idiot who's watching his videos on Youtube 7 years after he left office !

  • This guy's greatest achievement, in his own words, was the "Clarity bill."

    How's that for irony.
