I'm confused. The beginning is "Two Figures By a Fountain" and then the end is "The Vision", yet I feel like I heard this entire score in one bit of the movie?

@frambesbuckeye from 0:54 seconds onwards, it is The Vision by X-Ray Dogs (I'm quite sure of this - heard the exact section in another trailer, Angel (2007). The first part is from Two Figures By a Fountain. In the original soundtrack, I think they developed the theme further based on the motif and almost the entire chord progression of The Vision. Hope that helps! : D

this sounds absolutely amazing! and it's even more amazing that you were able to transcribe it by ear! would you perhaps be able to re-record this and point the camera at the piano, for those of us whose ears are not as talented? my sister plays violin as well, and i play piano, so i was hoping to learn it and have her play the violin part.

Well, the Atonement is mainly orchestra...I don't think there will ever be one for a piano version, unless someone else transcribes it for the rest of you guys.

Yeah Dario Marianelli had a piano sheet book released officially for Pride and Prejudice. Well that's because Pride and Prejudice heavily involved the Piano. The score mainly consisted of Piano. Here in Atonement, you hear traces of it, but its mainly mixed with orchestra. So I don't think Dario will release a piano booklet.

That's really good! I would just suggest playing that beginning part a slight bit slower. I know that it's meant to go fast, but I think you were playing it a bit too fast. But I love that second part as well. Just breathtakingly beautiful!

and the very last where the crescendo begins is The Vision by X-ray Dog.

You cannot find these songs, they only do trailer music for movies not soundtracks to mass consumers,

Yea, I am pretty sure it is one of the bits created by X-ray dogs. They are an independent group that creates sound bits for movies.

actually, i think it would be quite possible for you to get the piano version and then arrange it to your preferences. Perhaps, play the melody ( starting from 0:08).. =) It's just a suggestion (i think this haunting melody will sound beautiful on the flute)

thanks aotheflash! Um.. actually, i'm not that sure cause i haven't seen the arrangement of the piano solos. Any piece can be arranged to meet the needs of the player. As for the one I played, I just arranged it to my level.. =) (i wouldn't be able to play it if it was too hard!lol).. perhaps, for this piece, about grade 6-7. Hope that helps! =)
