  • Crimping cables makes me sad.

  • @hoeding Julian Assange also thinks like that.

  • I like to use solder type center center pins. I can re-use the RG58 N . I found that a small peice of a steel can like tomato or pineapple can works great. you have to try different sizes. Aluminum like soda cans will NOT work. Once the shrink tubing is slid over the crimp looks like a crimp ring was used and IMO is better or equally as good. Like your video will look for the spring type RG58 connectors. Can you remove the LMR coax once it has been inserted. ?

  • @WWBZT1 You can remove it from the center pin spring. Before crimping the outer ring of course.

  • I didn't see you put a center pin on it before you crimped the ferrule. How is suppose to work without one?

  • @jimw8s6r The center pin is NON-REMOVABLE and spring type. You just insert the cable and it is connected.

  • I should have read the previous post - the EZ 400 connectors have the center pin built in. Thanks for the video - good demo

  • @jimw8s6r Thanks. Good work.

  • What did you do with center pin? No crimp or solder?

  • @4jumbo This are the EZ series connectors from Times Microwave Systems which are "spring" type for the center pin. They are slightly more expensive but you spare soldering which can be very inconvenient in the field.

  • Who makes the crimp tool you are using? The one's I've seen are not as thick in the die and therefor don't crimp the whole sleeve of the connector.

  • @cmj0968 weidmuller

  • The "blue tool" is branded by Times Microwave as CST-400. You can find a dealer for that, connectors, crimping tools and cables at their website

  • Could you please clarify is the "Blue Tool" GST-400 or CST 400 as mentioned by you.

Also the Crimping tool what is the Die Set, you are using?

Hope to hear from you soon

  • @prologixme CST-400, confirm, just Google it and you will see the picture. The Die I'm using is 10.54mm (0.415''), because I already have this tool for a while. The one recommend by Times is 10.90mm (0.429''). The difference is negligible.

  • Hello,

Where I can buy this article/tool (coax stripper)?. Thank you.

    Regards,

    Gorka

  • What is the name of the blue tool you used?
