yeah kelly and bs voices are very similar. but i think coz, beyonce is a mezzo soprano, and kelly, a soprano. so thats why beyonce has that extra power

It's just Beyonce's is more trained.Lyric sopranos have damaged their voices singing spinto roles which is why if you pay attention to songs like the Amen medley and Star Spangled Banner Kelly sings the strong finish instead of Beyonce and then when Bey hits high notes she tries not to hold them as long.Its to perserve her voice.
@Jamez9481 So did I until I watched some of their earlier interviews and then some of the stuff with Bey's music teacher and vocal coaches. That's when I found out. That's why Bey's voice flows like it does. Had Kelly had training like that she wouldn't have been so breathy. But when she does control her voice it's awesome. @NorthernStar2187 Beyonce has been trained since she had been singing which includes talent shows and showcases when she was a kid BEFORE Destiny's Child and Girl's Tyme in addition to her taking up choir and extra lessons with her music teacher as her star pupil. Kelly wasn't even around at that time.
@wooyea08 she has exposure to dance lessons moreso than singing before the groups. It wasn't until Girl's Tyme was formed where Mathew hired a vocal coach for all the girls to have lessons. Beyonce having lessons before or after, doesn't excuse Kelly's vocals! That's a major cop out... if that's the case, Kelly should have learned from the lessons taught from the same coach. It puzzles me how she's had so much training, but is still very pitchy!

@JonathanGardnerTV i think i have to disagree with you. it takes more control to sing in ur upper register than lower, and since kelly mostly sang soprano and michelle sang tenor kelly had to use more control. singing soprano means u have to be able to cross over from ur chest to head notes easily which kelly did effortlessly. all 3 are still dope tho.
@justindwebber Umm yes I know Kelly normally sang the higher parts, that doesn NOT mean Michelle can't sing up there with more EASE and CONTROL. Michelle can belt up to G5 live in chest voice. She can sustain F#5s VERY easily with vibrato whilst Kelly pushes brief F5s. Michelle's upper chest range is much better controlled and consistent than Kelly's....Kelly's lower chest range is poor, that's why Michelle sings low. Also, Kelly's tone is RICHER throughout.
@JonathanGardnerTV michelle may have the more unique tone but she doesnt have the best control. watch their live performances and see how all over the place michelle can be at times, especially when shes tryin to do runs. and idk where uve seen michelle sustain a g5 but i havent ever heard it... i have heard kelly sustain the g5 tho... plus when michelles voice goes into her higher chest register it gets very thin and breaks easily. kelly's voice gets stronger the higher she sings.
@justindwebber I said F#5 and Michelle has hit multiple G5s live. One can be found in the Live in Atlanta performance of Lose My Breath where she harmonises a G5 when they are doing that 12345 thingy towards the end.
Michelle is much more consistent live than Kelly. Michelle's runs aren't the best but her overall control is far superior to Kelly's. Michelle can control every aspect of her range from her low chest range to exclamations
Michelle has hit multiple G5s live. Kelly has only hit a G5 live in her pre-recorded Motivation BET Awards performance and that was very brief. I suggest you watch the Live vocal range videos posted on YouTube for both singers.
Let's look at say the Live In Atlanta performances...on Through With Love, Kelly struggles to belt an Eb5 while Michelle hits MULTIPLE F#5s with clarity and controlled vibrato.
I love Kelly but she's not a better VOCALIST than Michelle - not live anyway.
It never ceases to amaze me how these 3 ladies could have 3 totally different vocal styles but all compliment each other brilliantly!!! (U can probably tell this is my favorite girl group of all time). I think it was truly DESTINY that brought them together bcuz after all the ups and downs the group went thru luk at wut the result was!! Beyonce voice is not as strong as it used to be. On here, Bday, and Beyonce Experience here was at full maxium. Now, i think her voice has lost a little power because she's always growling now. I hope she doesnt growl too much cause i dont want her voice to be raspy. its too pretty for that

@wooyea08 Woops have to disagree there. Michelle has more control than Kelly. Kelly is great (like on WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER her massive worldwide hit) but Michelle's got a more unique tone

I was disappointed that none of Michelle's work got a nomination. It would've been off the chain to see all three ladies get Grammy noms AND walk away with some for their solo work.

@JonathanGardnerTV i think i have to disagree with you. it takes more control to sing in ur upper register than lower, and since kelly mostly sang soprano and michelle sang tenor kelly had to use more control. singing soprano means u have to be able to cross over from ur chest to head notes easily which kelly did effortlessly. all 3 are still dope tho.

@justindwebber Umm yes I know Kelly normally sang the higher parts, that doesn NOT mean Michelle can't sing up there with more EASE and CONTROL. Michelle can belt up to G5 live in chest voice. She can sustain F#5s VERY easily with vibrato whilst Kelly pushes brief F5s. Michelle's upper chest range is much better controlled and consistent than Kelly's....Kelly's lower chest range is poor, that's why Michelle sings low. Also, Kelly's tone is RICHER throughout.

@JonathanGardnerTV michelle may have the more unique tone but she doesnt have the best control. watch their live performances and see how all over the place michelle can be at times, especially when shes tryin to do runs. and idk where uve seen michelle sustain a g5 but i havent ever heard it... i have heard kelly sustain the g5 tho... plus when michelles voice goes into her higher chest register it gets very thin and breaks easily. kelly's voice gets stronger the higher she sings.

@justindwebber I said F#5 and Michelle has hit multiple G5s live. One can be found in the Live in Atlanta performance of Lose My Breath where she harmonises a G5 when they are doing that 12345 thingy towards the end.
Michelle is much more consistent live than Kelly. Michelle's runs aren't the best but her overall control is far superior to Kelly's. Michelle can control every aspect of her range from her low chest range to exclamations

Michelle has hit multiple G5s live. Kelly has only hit a G5 live in her pre-recorded Motivation BET Awards performance and that was very brief. I suggest you watch the Live vocal range videos posted on YouTube for both singers.
Let's look at say the Live In Atlanta performances...on Through With Love, Kelly struggles to belt an Eb5 while Michelle hits MULTIPLE F#5s with clarity and controlled vibrato.
I love Kelly but she's not a better VOCALIST than Michelle - not live anyway.

It never ceases to amaze me how these 3 ladies could have 3 totally different vocal styles but all compliment each other brilliantly!!! (U can probably tell this is my favorite girl group of all time). I think it was truly DESTINY that brought them together bcuz after all the ups and downs the group went thru luk at wut the result was!! Its truly an attest to all things working together for the good. Wow, they were @ their hight when they were DC3. The best girl group ever baby!!!!!

Beyonce voice is not as strong as it used to be. On here, Bday, and Beyonce Experience here was at full maxium. Now, i think her voice has lost a little power because she's always growling now. I hope she doesnt growl too much cause i dont want her voice to be raspy. its too pretty for that

actually women have head tones where they switch from chest to a lightly stressed voice in through their temple falsetto is defined as a false male voice but many people tend to use them for both sexes but they have two different meaning and two different ways they are produced

Mathew didn't become their manager until they were dropped from their first label, and EVERY producer they worked with considered Beyonce to be the LEAD! A manager has no control over who sings!

That's false because b4 beyonce's daddy became the manager of destiny's child ,beyonce was already chosen as the lead vocalist in girls tyme.Even the vocal coach, who work with them at them start,mentioned that beyonce was the only one that came with that incredible voice and ears for chords.
