  • umm are you sure thats jon groff? cause it doesn't really sound like him...

  • @kalii114 Totally... I've had long time hearing his voice and that's really him. ((: Regards!

  • love this so much <3

  • I actually love listening to them talk.

    Their voices an words. Uh!

I could try and quote some of my favourites to listen to, but if I wrote one I'd end up writing every phrase they each say. I'm actually so tempted to write a specific few, but I'd never stop!

  • Ooh! Jonathan sounds so dapper when he speaks!

I love this scene, I think it's one of the best to show John Gallagher Jr.'s acting skills. I'm sorry, but NO ONE ELSE can play Moritz Stiefel, he's an amazing actor.

  • Moritz rox!!! idk why but he sooo makes me laugh every time !! xD

  • "They only multiplied everything ten times!"

  • skylar is so phenomenal

  • i love john gallagher jr.'s singing voice and talking voice.

  • "Shame is nothing but a product of education." Ohhh Melchi!

  • Jonathan Groff TOUCH ME!!

  • @tukito101 oh god i love him :'''''''[

  • My girlfriend and I made out to this song...so sensual.

  • I saw them in PA. I love love love it. The cast for that musical was excellent, even better than what I've seen from the original cast on youtube. Especially Melchior. Fabulous :)

  • "Now I am plagued by labia majora!" Best line ever. Seriously, I love Moritz.

  • favorite song from this show(:

    spring awakening is so amazing

  • This is great, thank you!

  • I DROOL AT JON. XD

  • i without a doubt will always love this musical and totally wish i could be apart of it!! it is just simply AMAZING!!!!!!

  • aahh i love this musical, definitely one of my favourite musicals :D

i wish it would come back to London..!!

  • 6:12 and on... <3

  • this is definetly my favorite song in the entire musical!

  • gideons voice is equivalent to heaven

  • Most beautiful song of the musical, even in the german version.

  • Bear with me, I haven't seen this yet. But which one does Gideon Glick play? Moritz or Melchoir?

  • ummmmm Gideon is neither! He was ernst I believe. The one who falls in love with Hanschen. John Gallager jr. is the best Morits EVER

  • @Telephunk45 He plays Ernst. He's the one that sings from 4:56 to 5:19. He's SO AMAZING! He has one of the best voices in the show. :)

  • Actual song starts at 4:18

  • @chachaleeroy thanks! :)

  • Uhm, I agree. But why spam videos of other perfectly good rock musicals like Spring Awakening? Which also makes it into my top 10

  • that is one horny guy

  • This part is ahmayzing

  • is this from a sound board?

  • This audio is fantastic!

  • ... Nnnnnnnnnnnooooot really.

  • There's 2 guys who are gay in the show, but the rest of the characters are straight. The show's about maturing, growing up, and sex in general. So no, the show is not about gay people. This song is pretty much just about the awesomeness of sex.

  • well onyl one is gay Hanschen in Omnisexual or he is sexually attracted to things he has power over

  • Ernst is too. He really loves Hanschen and that's why it's so hard for him, in addition to the society he lives in. We aren't really quite sure about Hanschen, although it's more clear that they both definitely are in the original Wedekind play.

  • YEAH it is... in such a FABULOUS way!!!!!

  • horny way?

  • @emoguysrhot94 There's two gay dudes but its kind of a comedic relief scene... The essay is an explanation of sex with pornographic images and the play in general is about two different views of sex, the kids purely physical one and the parents abstinent propaganda

  • Ahhhh, I really want to see this in January. :D

    I love Moritz

    :)

  • omg this is simply gorgeous and amazing. this is real talent.

  • I love Moritz! ^_^

Why does he have to die...*sobsob* =(

  • I still don't understand.... Can someone please explain to me why Moritz freaks out and runs away?

  • Um...he's overwhelmed and embarrassed by his feelings of lust. He's feeling a distinct lack of control and pressure and feels that not only is it wrong it's too hard to handle. He's basically Miserable. That is why he eventually commits suicide because according to everything he's been taught that he's supposed to not feel...this is the most blasphemous. (i think thats why he commits suicide anyway...from what i got....i didn't see the musical *cries in dark corner*but i read most of it.)

  • Thanks! That's what I fugured, and I realize that's the general plot of the show. xD But I guess the sound in his voice at the end sounded................I dunno........excited!

  • they have it live (the whole play) on youtube. thats how i saw it

  • WHERE?

  • where?? do you still have the link? cant find the entire play

  • @fairygrrl45 wow. thanks for ruining it for me. i was gonna go see it this summer for the first time and now im gonna know that and it will ruin it thanks.

  • @phatdurg14 Well if you didn't want to know you shouldn't have been listening to a voice over from a scene of the original play. And read the freakin' comments! You did that all by yourself. I can comment what i wish, its a free country, don't blame me because you made a stupid mistake. And if a small thing like this ruins the entire experience for you, you must have a lot of ruined experiences. I'd almost feel sorry for you...if you weren't being so bitchy and immature. Oh...and YOUR WELCOME!

  • @fairygrrl45 someone posted the entire show with the OBC look up "part 01 of 13" ...you're welcome

  • @fairygrrl45 actually, moritz commits suicide because he fails his exams, his parents are too harsh on him.

  • @livelovelaughsmiles3 I don't know about the musical but in the play he passes his exams but they fail him anyway becuase they don't have enough seats in the next grade for the whole class to pass

  • Who's playing the adult woman in this? It sounds a bit like Christine but it's a pic of Frances so I'm confused.

  • Is this the original cast?

I saw it in Baltimore, so I'm just trying to find out if it was the same cast or not. :]

  • yes it's the original cast =]

  • do you have the rest of it? the quality is incredible!

  • @karatechik713 - yes is it the original cast

  • saw it in Louisville two weeks. AMAZING.

  • Me too!!!! INCREDIBLE!

  • i wann see this so bad bc I dont understand whats going on, but i love the songs... i know the basic story line but that isnt enough to understand it

i cant see it tho unless it comes back to st. louis, it was here around december but i couldnt afford to go see it :(

  • spring awakening was amazing

i am going to see it again

i would recommend it to anyone

the music, the acting, the atmosphere is all amazing!

  • i thought it finished

  • They're on a national tour right now, they're in Baltimore. Not this cast though, it's entirely new people.

  • This is one of the most phenomenal musicals I've EVER heard! I cannot wait for it to finally get here to Australia. This Audio is so so clear. Any chance of getting a hold of the whole show for me - one poor deprived aussie kid :(

  • Im gonna fly to Sydney just to watch it :D

Lots of bootlegs floating around the net...you should be able to find one.

  • look up springawakening.mp4 on google video.

    its all there :D

  • I love spring awakening! Haha, my brother walked over to the computer right when moritz says "please take these sticky dreams away from me!"

  • frau gabor seems to come in a bit late - shouldn't it be a bit sooner, so that there's a real danger that she's heard "labia majora"?

  • hahahahahaha...

    i <3 Moritz!

    thanks for posting!!!

  • Moritz's voice is the cutest :)

  • i love jonathan goff's voice for some reason. not even his singing voice, just his speaking voice is so amazing lol

  • some reason! it's only cause it's amazing!

  • @xfighttheskies amen. :)

  • @xfighttheskies I agree :D...he has a beautiful voice :).

  • @xfighttheskies

    i totally agree.

    it gives me chillllzzz!

  • I saw this yesterday

At the novella theatre in London

    It was Sososososo good :D

  • i just saw this show.

    it was beautiful.

i want to see it over and over again

  • beautiful song and the penis and vagina line is brilliant. such wonderful work.

  • "It seems the whole world were mesmerized with penis and vagina! Well I AM" lol

  • i know. i love ittt. :)

  • I saw "Spring Awakening" yesterday and I was blown away.! I knew all the music but it was incredible to see it live!!!

  • what book is melchior reading?

  • Goethe's "Faust".

  • thanx!

  • probably one of skylar's best solos...

  • YES! One HUNDREDTH RATING!!

  • Who says theatre is dead? ;-)

  • someone said that?! DEATH TO THEM

  • does he grab a microphone in every song?

  • soz i just have to comment, also wanna know the answer n they'll notify me...

    =]

  • in most of the songs all the actors have the handheld mics but in songs like "I believe" or "totally fucked" where theres dancing... and other things going on they cant hold the mic at the same time.

    hope that helped?

  • pretty much, it's part of the stage direction

  • They all grab mics because its supposed to be in a "different world" where all their thoughts are out in the open, where they can share their true feelings.

don't want to sound like a know-it-all, i just had the same question and my friend owns the spring awakening book with commentary from the directors...

  • not a know it all, just a very helpful person ^^

  • it's called breaking down the fourth wall.

when you stop the world to go sing/act

  • Well... I'm not sure if this is correct, but Occording to Idina Menzel, "breaking down the 4th wall" is when you stop your performance and connect with the audience personally. Like she often does in her concerts when she will have little chats with the audience.

so quite the opposite of what you said.

Although I could be wrong, it is just what she said at one of her concerts.

  • BroadwayBaby you are correct. The 4th wall is the imaginary wall that separates the performers form the audience. When a performer interacts with the audience they are breaking the 4th wall.

  • Bingo

  • I made this comment a while ago, now i have a more depth knowledge of the musical and now know the answer lol

  • @weenylem they have the mics when the songs are their thoughts, in the group scenes when there are no mics, its because the character is not actually part of the scene? For example in the 'i believe' scene, the rest of the cast are not actually there with wendla and melchoir, they are just there on stage. If you get me?

  • that one guy sounds like dan green

  • ... baby makin musical theatre music. oh man... :)

  • 7:34 is magic

  • Oh my Gosh, I totally agree.

The first time I heard this song, that EXACT part gave me goosbumps. That boy's riffs are enough to make my face explode.

  • it is still on broadway yall...they are casting for it this week in AEA... dont worry lol

  • That's probably for the touring cast...

  • it comes to austria :D casting was in germany too,was there,i love the songs!

  • i can't believe it closed. about 10 minutes ago.

  • omg i know :( so sad its closed now

  • WHAT!? spring awakening closed on broadway!?

  • its not closed, im going to see it in april.

  • Are you sure you aren't going to see the tour? The broadway show closed almost 3 weeks ago on 1/18.

  • no i got tickets for the broadway show. in canada....

  • wait- you got tickets for a show in canada? when we say that it closed, we mean that it is no longer playing on Broadway. There are other productions.

  • yeah, you're going to see the tour, which will be in Toronto from the end of March until mid April. Its not the Broadway production (which closed).

  • i love john gallagher jr with all my heart.

  • DO you have Totally Fucked?

  • wow this is incredible quality! do you have any more live clips?

  • it's a soundboard...recorded from the actors mics. this is from a full show (with the exception of Totally F***ed).

  • ohh i see. do you have any more?

  • Ah shit, my mistake, i thought this was from the year later!

    Oops, sorry!

  • This isn't Jonathan Groff is it? Cos didn't he and Lea do their final performance the night before this one, on the 18th May?

I could be wrong, but if this isn't Groff, who is it? Thanks

  • no this isnt the day before their final performance cuz John Gallagher is still Moritz here and he left before them.

    oh and this Groff.

  • this is 2007. they left in 2008.

  • so funny, it's a shame it's getting taken off Broadway

  • spring awakenings is the most beautiful musical EVER!

  • i love this song.

  • This is awesome!!!!!!

  • Why is it going off broadway? I thought it would last longer. that's sad.

  • Not enough people to put in their theater to see it. :(

And I believe it is hard to afford broadway tickets nowadays. :(

  • well at least its touring... i wish i could see it, but im too young... :[

  • do you have to be a certain age to watch it or ur parents just wont let you?

  • no, my parents wont allow me. they are VERY surprised im even interested in seeing it once i told them the subject manner. but i REALLY want to see it, the music is amazing!

  • Should have told them it's about the season between winter and summer :) flowers, lambs, dew, chickens, easter...

  • i know theres nudity in the plat....but what exactly do you see?

  • it depends where you sit. i mean nothing like WHOA. you see melci's butt. and you see a lot of breastage! but thats about it. the whole like sex this is very brief

  • What a beautiful, sincere and simple song. I just adore it. The play is magnificent, and it's a shame that it's going off Broadway.

  • Lol, how they pronounce Melchior XD

  • 16 october! That's my birthday!

  • OMG i loooove this cast. moritzzzz = hilariousss <3

love this show! they're all so talented aaand this show is such a creative idea!

  • although their voices are still great, they had better days with the singing

    especially with otto and gideon

  • Is this an audio?? OMG, It reminds me of something you'd see on a talk show!! You must of gotten great seats for the show!! It was awesome!! :-) Oh, Gideon, I love you so much!! I had goose bumps all throw out him singing!! He has a wonderful voice!! :-)

  • Awesome :)

  • how did you get this?

  • i would like to know also.

  • Skylar's "Where the figs lie" . . . fucking awesome

  • I thought that was Ernst's line?

  • At around the 7:33 mark its Georg

  • Its Ernst. I have the script right here. Pg. 35

  • Oh, okay... sorry!

  • no need to apologize!

  • you're right, Ernst says "where the figs lie." but Georg says something similar like "where the wind sighs" at 7:33 and it is indeed sweet.

  • Melchior and Mortiz: "Touch me-All silent. Tell me-please-all is forgiven. Consume my wine. Consume my mind. I'll tell you how, how the winds sigh..." ... Ernst: "Touch me-just like that. And that-O, yeah-now, that's heaven Now that I like. God that's so nice. Now lower down where the figs lie..."
  • its where the "figs lie" I have the script.

In fact, I sang this song for a dramatic interpretation for a speech and debate tournament. It has to be word-for-word when you do it, and I won.

Though, fix would be cool lyrics...

  • actually, Ernst says "where the figs lie"

  • I hate people who sing in di, it turns it into a singing competition rather than acting.

T.I got really bad about that.

  • I saw that actually, but I won against two people that sang WAAAAY better than I was.

  • It's "where the figs lie" for Ernst, "where the winds sigh" in Melchior and Moritz's duet, and "where the SINS lie" until the outro, where it reverts to "winds".

  • ernst-fix lies

    georg-winds sigh

every once in a while-sins lie

i know its confusing but youll hear it if you listen for it

  • it's figs. I have the libretto (the script) and I saw it live. It is not fix.

  • great! thanks!

  • GREAT quality! :)

  • Gorgeous.
