If you like this musical, you might like our musical, "Sexting: The Musical." It's a fusion on "13 The Musical," "Avenue Q," and "Spring Awakening." Check it out!
I could try and quote some of my favourites to listen to, but if I wrote one I'd end up writing every phrase they each say. I'm actually so tempted to write a specific few, but I'd never stop!
I love this scene, I think it's one of the best to show John Gallagher Jr.'s acting skills. I'm sorry, but NO ONE ELSE can play Moritz Stiefel, he's an amazing actor.
I saw them in PA. I love love love it. The cast for that musical was excellent, even better than what I've seen from the original cast on youtube. Especially Melchior. Fabulous :)
There's 2 guys who are gay in the show, but the rest of the characters are straight. The show's about maturing, growing up, and sex in general. So no, the show is not about gay people. This song is pretty much just about the awesomeness of sex.
Ernst is too. He really loves Hanschen and that's why it's so hard for him, in addition to the society he lives in. We aren't really quite sure about Hanschen, although it's more clear that they both definitely are in the original Wedekind play.
@emoguysrhot94 There's two gay dudes but its kind of a comedic relief scene... The essay is an explanation of sex with pornographic images and the play in general is about two different views of sex, the kids purely physical one and the parents abstinent propaganda
Um...he's overwhelmed and embarrassed by his feelings of lust. He's feeling a distinct lack of control and pressure and feels that not only is it wrong it's too hard to handle. He's basically Miserable. That is why he eventually commits suicide because according to everything he's been taught that he's supposed to not feel...this is the most blasphemous. (i think thats why he commits suicide anyway...from what i got....i didn't see the musical *cries in dark corner*but i read most of it.)
Thanks! That's what I fugured, and I realize that's the general plot of the show. xD But I guess the sound in his voice at the end sounded................I dunno........excited!
@fairygrrl45 wow. thanks for ruining it for me. i was gonna go see it this summer for the first time and now im gonna know that and it will ruin it thanks.
@phatdurg14 Well if you didn't want to know you shouldn't have been listening to a voice over from a scene of the original play. And read the freakin' comments! You did that all by yourself. I can comment what i wish, its a free country, don't blame me because you made a stupid mistake. And if a small thing like this ruins the entire experience for you, you must have a lot of ruined experiences. I'd almost feel sorry for you...if you weren't being so bitchy and immature. Oh...and YOUR WELCOME!
@livelovelaughsmiles3 I don't know about the musical but in the play he passes his exams but they fail him anyway becuase they don't have enough seats in the next grade for the whole class to pass
This is one of the most phenomenal musicals I've EVER heard! I cannot wait for it to finally get here to Australia. This Audio is so so clear. Any chance of getting a hold of the whole show for me - one poor deprived aussie kid :(

It's "where the figs lie" for Ernst, "where the winds sigh" in Melchior and Moritz's duet, and "where the SINS lie" until the outro, where it reverts to "winds".
