The intake manifold stock were built for low end toruqe *dodge pickups*.. 350lbs at 3300 or so rpm but only 250hp.. The CRATE 5.9 has a diff intake manifold and puts out around 370hp and 370 lbs of torque but at 4500-4900rpm instead of 3k.. The 5.9 also weighs ALOT less then a srt8 or 5.7
So because of this, if yu change the intake manifold and add a tuner, exhaust to make it breath better *stock ypipe to muffler is like 2 inchs lol.. And some other stuff, you can increase HP 100+, and since these weigh only 4200 lbs .... well hense the 5.2 seconds.. lol

I know the 5.9 can tow 6500 if you put on a aftermarket cooler like mine has vs just using the main radiator. One thing i hear about the 4.7's is reliability sucks. Headgaskets break alot on these engines. But then the 46re tranny in the 5.9 sucks.

The 4.7HO is 330, the 4.7HO 0-60 is rated at 6.9 seconds, the 5.9 is rated for 6.8 seconds according to motortrend. The 0-100 MPH for both is rated 15.4 seconds. The 2011 5.7 Hemi is also not faster then the 5.9. It has over 100HP more and weighs 500lbs more then a ZJ and the 0-60 is 7.3seconds according to motortrend.
The 4.7HO is already modified heavily dude... The 5.9 is bare bones, is easily modified. Add in new headers, cold air intake, performance pcm, bigger throttle body. There is no performance pcm for a 4.7 its already got one in it basicly lol. 4.7 beating a 5.9 ? That'll be the day. You had the option of a Mopar performance PCM when buying the 5.9 which gives around 30 more HP and torque right off the line. The 4.7HO is close but it will never beat the 5.9, your truck is heavier for one, and with the Performance PCM and a stock engine the 5.9 has 275HP, and 375LBS of torque. VS the 4.7HO's 265HP and 295lbs of torque.
Now MPG lol 4.7ho wins and it can use 87octane vs the 93. Altho the 5.9 can use 87 if flashed.

i wasn't trying to piss you off or anything... all i know is stock 5.9 is around 250 HP and a stock 5.7 is 354 HP... most 5.9s dyno around 180-200 at the wheels and most 5.7s around 280-300... there's an obvious 100 HP difference here... so unless your 5.9 is heavily modded, then logic says you don't stand a chance... and i don't call replacing the muffler with a flowmaster "heavily modded"

Damn, that's about what my supercharged F150 with the 5.4L 3V motor looks like accelerating, lol. I always loved the 5.9L, especially when they were put in the Durango and Dakota R/T. I won't suggest to race my truck, but I'll race you with my RC car! Haha! Awesome Jeep!

lol dude did you put the 5.7 Dodge engine in that Jeep? Um, because Jeep only made a 5.2 and a 5.9 (only one year) for the Grand Cherokee. Now they're down to pansy 4.7 i think. I had a 5.2 from '94 good shit... but this Jeep looks like the 5.9? But the inside does not look like it's from 1998 (the only year they made the 5.9)

ur oil pressure is a little lower than id want t to be around the rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000 rpm maybe try goin up a weight like from 10w30 to 10w40

50 seconds (+/- .1) till it hits 60 at 57 flat (+/- .1)
so giving you the benefit of a doubt well say you run 6.8 seconds to 60 which is still quick time for this car. 5.8 is little exaggerated ;)

lol dude Motor Trend tested the 5.9 in 98 when it came out and it went 0-60 in 6.8 bone stock so while its heavily moddified bubbadog4x4's 5.9 should run low sixes if not mid to upper 5s
