@AirrowRocket Sorry about the delay. I rarely check my gmail account and did not know you had commented. Actually for the first few test flights, the rocket had no fins. The early rockets without fins seemed to turn rather than go up straight up. The fins were added to turn to force the rocket to spin it a corkscrew trajectory. Since then, the design has been improved, but I don't think finless flight has been tried since the early days.
super! given the way the tube is pulled up and not pushed, did you ever think of testing it without fins?
