Why is it when people talk about music on youtube I feel like it's high school and people are trying to be cooler than the next by claiming they know whats what ..LMAO..Just Enjoy!!!!!
@Dirtyboyism Sorry, but Pink Floyd is definitly a big influence to this track. So, well if front, 23 skidoo? Unique? Of course not. Don't get me wrong. I love this track. But I know where its influence comes from, that's all.
Ok, so im no expert on 23 skiddo, except my dad was their head guitar tech. Skiddo were the workings of two half chinese, scottish brothers named Alex and Johnny who ended up in stratford, East London. They also spent some of their childhood in a tibetan monastery. Thats about all I know.
Does anybody know if the first selftitled lp (infinite length, one has to move the pickup by hand, cause its a loop-track. Side 2 is more tibetan bells, bone percussion , its the most extreme lp i had One of them. The next they released was Urban Gamelan and 7 Songs(fetish records), a mini-lp. In 2000 yet another release came, not so extreme anymore unfortunately for me. But, worth a listen.
glad to know that there are other people who dig 23 skidoo. my first encounter was Urban Gamelan. between '85 to '89, i was totally into them. recently I found that they released a cd in 2000. It was real nice w/ the new millennium flavor.
23 skidoo...huh amazing..i like them since Tearing up the plans 12"..After more than two decade they still manage to amaze me. Excellent band, with Cabaret Voltaire one of my personal favorite of the 80's....

Stop comparing Skidoo to other bands or trying to pigeonhole them, they were unique, end of the story. Mighty

One of the greatest trance-drone funk workouts of all time. Think about how right they were to put those attack drums at the front of the mix.
