LOL yes it is wireless power transmission, no denying that, but if U can put up with the groans. :) Now U need a large spot light array on 1 end & a large PV array on the other
What if the lens was focused so the light filled more of the solar panel? Would that potentially increase the voltage? Or would the lack in focus produce the same power?
what happens if you move your light source half the distance, then one quarter? Does it increase the voltage in direct proportion or is there some logarithmic increase? Just wondering...
very interesting! like electromagnetic induction this is a nice way for the wireless energy transfer, obviously it needs research and developments, but I think it can works!
although lasers produce a high light frequency with little energy usage i think the solar panel is only going to read limited amount of energy due to the laser small light spread but what if like 3ft in front of the panel you break the light? say with a crystal or u can even possition it so a mirror reflects the light off the pane; hundreds of times id be a cool experiment to see what would happen :]
I haven't looked through all of the comments sorry if I repeat, I wonder what a laser might generate. Lasers can produce a high intensity beam with relatively little power. Could the concentrated light beam produce more energy than it uses?
i did a real tesla wireless energy transfer. i got 20 ft wireles energy so far which is quite far! maybe i can get 50 or more. this is important we can bring his technology back if we start building it underground! once perfect it should go miles! wirelesss power obtainable anywhere on the planet!
he did it :D there's video like this somewhere and he tries to get power from moon and gets about 1 volt or something when he uses mirrors and one solar panel
what we need are HUGE copper coils circling the Earth and using its magnetic field to generate electricity :) BTW, I've heard of people doing EXACTLY what you are talking about near hi voltage line.. not sure if its true or not..
I've since found some info on the topic of RF power harvesting, like the account of a man who was powering several appliances in his home with the signal from a nearby radio station. Apparently by doing that, he was diminishing the signal strength of the radio station and he got into trouble.
If you are interested in wireless solar energy and technology in general and where it is taking us I am at work compiling a playlist called "Our Future" of the best future and technology oriented youtube videos on my channel. Feel free to view the videos and comment!
You can as their light invades your space:-) You will not get much power, really very little but in theory an stronger PV with a higher efficiency rating would get something. Take a telescope and point it a a street light, even if out of focus, a solar calculator works if the eyepiece is removed. Pointless as they run off of just about anything. If your neighbor was a ball park, then maybe you could get a few watts.
lol This is a great video. The research you have committed yourselves into awesome! It's all relative. It is also unique that the public can pear into hands on research. Thanks again GREENPOWERSCIENCE. Our family enjoys!
Let's reverse your question enriquecontreras.. Is it unethical that man-made signals are traveling across our properties and through our bodies? Such as Satellite television, mobile and wireless. :) And, what would these reflections do to earths atmosphere? *peace
The sun is 93 million miles from earth. The power level is around 750 watts per square yard. Simply set up your panels in direct sunlight and charge a deep cycle battery. Now you can use battery power night or day. A very simple solution than going thru all the trouble of your experiment.
Forgot to test light with second test. It might had worked b/c the 11 volts where more constant with the fresnel lens. But I love your videos they are cool.
use lasers (like the really powerfull ones but not too powerful and damage the panel but maby use the lenses to difise it i winder how efecirnt that is? and maby get a laser that werks well with the imput spectrum of the panel(how to explain) a soler panel werks well with sum collers but not with others so thats y there not good with wight sun light so if u got a good coller then...
Well, looking at your 250ma motor and 4-11 volts DC developed, it seems like you're producing about 2-3 watts to run the motor. That would be somewhere between 35:1 or perhaps 20:1 efficiency. You're gonna burn up all your Carbon Credits running that thing Bucky.
You probably know this, but if someone else does not: when you focus the light onto a part only of the solar panel, the part not illuminated essentially acts as a resistance to the flow of current and limiting the power output. I read that any tree branches causing shading on your solar panel should be removed or place the solar panels in another location.
Thank you for the good information. We need to do this again when we are not fighting nature. I am in the process of getting more mirrors too. This should help with a stronger beam at a shorter focal length.
I have connected my multimeter to continuously measure amperage on my solar panel. When you say shorting does that cause any long term damage or does it just consume some power.
Shorting a solar panel will not hurt it. The energy will be absorbed by the panel through its own internal resistance, and that will just make it heat up a little bit more. Have you ever touched one in full sun? They get very hot.
Dan; Try bounce fabric softener sheets. I heard that they repel mosquitoes. I have no mosquitoes here so I don't know if it works ( my Mother says it does) . But, What the hay. Nothing ventured, Nothing gained.
If it does work, you could make a video and share with all of us.
"IF" solar cells were more energy efficant. we could have off shore wave or tide powered generators and not have the danger of heavy wireing in salt water. With out the need for wireing. An off shore generator could easaly be moved out of harms way when needed.
I like the setup of your experiment. I once tried without focusing optics using my 50 watt solar panel in my room close to the light bulb of 60 watts and it runs a walkman on low volume. Interesting to focus and increase power like that. I used to wonder what output would be with a panel close to a street lamp bulb they are high intensity mercury bulbs I believe and also, 35 to 40 feet in elevation. good job.
There's stuff you can put onto car windscreens to stop fogging. I think it's a spray or a special chemical wipe - or perhaps some DIY trick (ie: a waxy rag? i don't know, google should help).
using a fersnel lens to collect sun light focus it on to a
'input collector' at one end of a fiber-optic cable and then
'pipe' the sunlight to anywhere...
... i was thinking of a eco-friendly earth-mound house (partially underground = easy to heat, protected from tornados and such) but using real sunlight to light it in the day for color + power saving + aesthetics)

If you had a disco ball and put panels around it and shined a light into it could you multiply the energy by doing that?
bassface17 1 year ago
@bassface17 Hi,
You cannot multiply light without increasing input power, just concentrate it. Your power would drop per mirror accordingly depending on size.
