for some reason i was really proud of myself when i realized the second song he hummed in the contest was that Spice Girls song. i also would have guessed the first one was Crash Test Dummies, but even when that dumb bell does a melody you recognize, and it's a hook that repeats the melody a few times in a row, he changes the key every time. anything that might be the chorus of a song sounds like it could just as well be a verse from some other song.
