@nitotech Kobe is my fav player of all-time, I think Kobe could still put up 60 if he wanted to, but the reason he got those rings were playing better mentally than physically trying to do everything. Wade needs to learn to do the same, or better yet LeBron for sure.
For everyone that says Kobe is the better defender out of the two. Look at steals and blocks. At this time in Kobe's career he didn't have nearly as many blocks. Wade has also had injuries and still has more blocks then Kobe
@djismike Looking at steals and blocks isn't an accurate way to determine a player's defensive ability. Go look at Joe Dumars' stats in both categories, yet Michael Jordan said Joe Dumars was the toughest defender he ever played against.

And if you say blks and stls dont represent good defence, than are you saying they represent bad defence? Regardless, Wade has Kobe beat in defence. Just by watching them both play defence, its evident that Kobe barely even tries on defence anymore. Their were many times this season when he got exposed by the players he was guarding. He was a good defender but not anymore

It wasn't deserved based on stats and how he played defense. I watched both Kobe and Wade play defense this season and Kobe's defense wasn't that great- it noticeably declined (not 1st team worthy). A drop in a stat category doesn't directly translate into a drop in capability (example: Wilt limiting his scoring by 9.4 ppg in '67; leading the league in assists instead). NBA coaches are more afraid of Kobe on both ends of the court than they are of Wade. I can't go as far as to say the professionals (who know bball better than both of us) are dumb in their selection.

I look at stats, skill-sets, intangibles, individual accomplishments, and what their peers (who actually play against them!) say about them. In doing so, it's not even close who's better. Raw stats can be misleading, especially on the defensive end. Magic Johnson (also by his own admission) wasn't better than Jordan, just 'cause he had a better fg%, ft%, reb-pg, ast -pg, & 102 more triple doubles - in a shorter career - than MJ.
No its not only stats, Im specifically talking about this past season (2010-2011). Even withot looking at the stats and seeing both players play, its easy to tell who is currently the better player. I dont see how kobe is better anymore. Wade had a better season and he also played better than Kobe did against dallas. Kobe finished his 15th season, he's old now and passed his prime. Wade is still in his prime.

Kobe still has a better midrange & outside game (eFG% on jump shots: Wade - 43.0%; Kobe - 46.3%). Kobe's better at what decides 1/4 of all bball game outcomes (e.g. FTs) - something Wade should really work on after choking at the line in Finals game 4. Right now, Wade is better at help-defense & drawing fouls. Career-wise, Wade has a LONG way to go to catch Kobe.

Don't forget that drawing ticky-tack fouls on drives negates the shot attempts that are missed too. He scored 0.2 more ppg on 1.5 more FTAs/g than Kobe. When he brought the ball up the floor, Wade got 1.5 more apg than a guy who plays in a triangle offense (relies on more ball movement; hockey assists)? Not impressed.

Kobe manages to lead the Lakers consistenly in assists per game, and career-wise, only averages 1.6 less apg than a guy who (prior to 2011) brings the ball up the floor. If Kobe attacked the rim a lot, he would also get the calls but he doesn't anymore- he settles for too many jumpshots. And when I meant Wade makes better passes, I meant that he makes the easier passes. He makes the passes look better because he gets in the lane than passes it out. Kobe rarely does that.

He's less resilient (being older) and settles for J's mainly due to a right knee that's "almost bone on bone" (according to reports) that he had tried resting most of the year. But that Wade attacks the basket doesn't mean he automatically deserves that many FTs, and therefore points. And Kobe rarely passes in such fashion because he's part of a triangle offense. He can't always high pick-n-roll & dish (a la CP3).

Hey you should do another video including all the footage of Kobe bricking his way to the 2010 NBA championship and finals MVP and footage of Wade dismantling the very same Celtics team earlier in the playoffs. Wade is a great player but KB is far more dynamic. KB has more range which mean he has to be guarded at the arc. Wade shoots a higher FG% but that only because he drives more for high % shots. And I still don't understand why people compare a 25 y/o LeBron James in his prime to a 33 y/o Bryant who is currently in decline...I'm a Kobe fan and if you hate him you are not a real fan of basketball, everyone should enjoy great players no matter who your favorite team may be. I enjoy watching LeBron, Wade, Monta Ellis , Melo....and of course I would want my Lakers to win, but if its a good game and someone puts up a good showing, I always enjoy it. A drop in a stat category doesn't directly translate into a drop in capability (example: Wilt limiting his scoring by 9.4 ppg in '67; leading the league in assists instead). NBA coaches are more afraid of Kobe on both ends of the court than they are of Wade. I can't go as far as to say the professionals (who know bball better than both of us) are dumb in their selection.

I look at stats, skill-sets, intangibles, individual accomplishments, and what their peers (who actually play against them!) say about them. In doing so, it's not even close who's better. Raw stats can be misleading, especially on the defensive end. Magic Johnson (also by his own admission) wasn't better than Jordan, just 'cause he had a better fg%, ft%, reb-pg, ast -pg, & 102 more triple doubles - in a shorter career - than MJ.

I dont see how kobe is better anymore. Wade had a better season and he also played better than Kobe did against dallas. Kobe finished his 15th season, he's old now and passed his prime. Wade is still in his prime.

Kobe still has a better midrange & outside game (eFG% on jump shots: Wade - 43.0%; Kobe - 46.3%). Kobe's better at what decides 1/4 of all bball game outcomes (e.g. FTs) - something Wade should really work on after choking at the line in Finals game 4. Right now, Wade is better at help-defense & drawing fouls. Career-wise, Wade has a LONG way to go to catch Kobe.

Don't forget that drawing ticky-tack fouls on drives negates the shot attempts that are missed too. He scored 0.2 more ppg on 1.5 more FTAs/g than Kobe. When he brought the ball up the floor, Wade got 1.5 more apg than a guy who plays in a triangle offense (relies on more ball movement; hockey assists)? Not impressed.

And when I meant Wade makes better passes, I meant that he makes the easier passes. He makes the passes look better because he gets in the lane than passes it out. Kobe rarely does that.

He's less resilient (being older) and settles for J's mainly due to a right knee that's "almost bone on bone" (according to reports) that he had tried resting most of the year. But that Wade attacks the basket doesn't mean he automatically deserves that many FTs, and therefore points. And Kobe rarely passes in such fashion because he's part of a triangle offense. He can't always high pick-n-roll & dish (a la CP3).

If you are measuring leadership by whether or not a player's team gets swept in the playoffs then i guess Kobe has lost all leadership qualities he once had. Even with Gasol, Bynum, Artest, Odom and others they got destroyed/swept by the Mavs. I am not trying to say that Wade is better than Kobe, I think they are both great players. I think this is a terrible comparison video, the stats aren't even true, Wade averages 2 times as many blocks as Kobe throughout their careers according to nba.com

And years after 06 wade was injured, thats why they got swept the following year, he skipped half the season cuz his knee then came back in the playoffs and he starts off pretty slow (example: the begining of this year after he had no preseason games). injuries were a big factor in mcgradys career too, vince is all dunks

Hey you should do another video including all the footage of Kobe bricking his way to the 2010 NBA championship and finals MVP and footage of Wade dismantling the very same Celtics team earlier in the playoffs. 1st of all, Kobe was swept in a playoffs series with Shaq as a teammate as well, TWICE as a matter of fact. Once to the Jazz in 98 and once to the Spurs in 99.
2ndly, Wade's1st round loss to the Bulls in 07 had nothing to do with his leadership ability and everything to do with him playing through a shoulder injury that needed surgery.

Wade is a great player but KB is far more dynamic. KB has more range which mean he has to be guarded at the arc. Wade shoots a higher FG% but that only because he drives more for high % shots. I doubt anyone will tell you Wade is a better jump shooter than KB. KB is more durable that Wade for this reason. KB is also more disruptive against any player on offense whether in the post or peremeter.

Wade is not, and never has been, better than Kobe in midrange & outside (3pt) shooting. Free throws (which determine the outcome of 1/4 of all ball games), it's not even close who's better. Wade's ppg is only higher due to him getting more FTAs than Kobe. Wade is a better rebounder? (Career rpg: Wade - 5.1; Kobe - 5.3).

Melo, Durant are mid-outside shooters as well and they also shoot 45%. Wades got a solid outside game with the mix of amazng moves to the basket that havent been done since Jordan and Wade is the only guard who can score 25 ppg and shoot around 50%. Kobe scores but he bricks a lot of shots and has to take a lot of shots doing it. Hes not as good
