Wow it looks tough to set a trap. Do people still uses these kinds of traps? Where you gotta manually set it? Have you ever gotten your hand trapped before? It looks like you almost did with your first attempt. Nice vid btw. Screw these folks that say trapping is bad.
im not saying i kno anythin of hunting or traps but when i look at that thing and the ones on that magic show i can almost c the animal trapped in it. i mean yea this one looks like it aint got teeth but some look painful and if u dont check them that means the animal would suffer for days if it broke its leg. i mean quick death and all is cool i gues i mean ppl need to eat and all but i just think of torture trying to get out of it. again i dont kno shit of traps and just giving my oppinion.
@solemshadow Traps with teeth are no longer used. The traps in the Penn & Teller trick are the old fashioned style and probably picked because they were large and scary looking. Most states have a 24 hour check law. In other words the traps have to be checked every day. Animals don't sit in traps for days at a time. If you read the negative comments on this page, you will see just how misinformed people are about trapping.
No one gives a shit if you've got your hand caught in traps before, you're still a fucking cunt for being a trapper. So big woop, you think because a trap "doesn't hurt all that bad" that this is some type of humane way of "hunting?" What a dickwad. You are a sick bastard.
@reb0968 I KNOW how animal trapping is done because I GREW UP with it you twat. So I happen to know how they work on animals. I didn't comment on Penn & Teller's "trick," you idiot. I commented on this "trapper" and that he chooses to do trapping. THAT is what I find unforgiveable. Get YOUR fucking facts straight you dolt.
@lyricaltesting It takes a big man to admit that he is a cruel cunt. I commend you on your bold admission and hope that you keep moving forward with your therapy.
@reb0968 - not that im condoning what Lyrical..whatever has to say but, why DO you trap animals? whats the reason again:P? not that I care but, im interested what good it does now a days? I imagine you live close by a supermarket haha... so why do people trap animals again?
@pklukepk hello free food. noone traps to hurt animals the trap for the free food and some ppl trap to sell this food to others in order to make a living.
just because some ppl choose to see it as an act of cruelty(sp?) doesnt mean ppl who do it "are" cruel. mostly thier just hungry and broke.

lol. it looked like your belly... Kinda funny image. I could see this big harry trapper man going crazy in like his underwear, lol. Just kidding around.
Your knee (I assume) pops into the shot on the left side a few times. If you had a really, really gross beer gut, it could be sticking into the shot like that.
It would have to be a really nasty beer gut though. : )
Ahh, that makes sense. I honestly didn't know what they were doing..thanks for the explanation. You about gave me a heart attack though at the end when you stuck your hand in there...LOL :)
For all of you saying traps are inhumane, they really aren't the traps of the past were, with the big spikes and all that, you know the stereotypical ones, which is why they are banned now, I've put my hand in traps and I've seen people put they're hands in traps, the traps that are used nowadays for the most part only resptrain the animal, they don't hurt it. Without trapping small game would be overpopulated and would die a slow and painful death by starvation.
I have had traps go off on my hands several times. They don't break bones, cut the skin or whatever you think they do. When you say "trappers" should experience, etc., etc...if you trap long enough, believe me, you do.
I agree, life would be so much better if you just caught things in the wild, things eat other things, but I think it's kind of fucked up that we raise things specifically to be killed for food, the animals have no chance to escape or run, which is not how it should work.
Trapping of what animal? A beaver? How does that make chicken nuggets? There are some animals that need to be killed to feed and clothe the human race, and some that could be spared, but humanity is greedy now isn't it?
What a shame that you'd have to spoil someone else's fun by exploiting the trick like that. Goddamn, they are entertainers. Granted it was very easy to determine the solution, but you are somewhat of a killjoy. Sheesh. What a disappointment.

Yes they do. Actually on Bob Wendt's On the Cat Line video, he lets loose a possum. It gives him a fierce scowl, challenging him to fight. When Bob just sits there, he raises his nose in disgust and marches off into the woods. It's hilarious. :D Traps are like the vaccine needle, scary until you realize it doesn't hurt.
I've never seen a trap this up close before and had no idea that one jaw was that loose. How is this completely obvious unless you know something about traps?

I think "trappers" should experience what police do when they are trained with OC or mace or whatever: get sprayed first and see how it feels.
All "trappers" should step on an opened trap with bare skin and see how it feels before they put animals through something so cruel.
