I'm going to have to agree with this guy. Bought a mamba a week ago, and the wireless function barely worked. When plugged back in the USB port it wouldn't work either. Woke up in the morning to this non fuctioning piece of shit, ended up shooting it against a brick wall at high velocity in a fit of rage. Don't buy razer, both their hardware and software is complete shit. They've just lost me as a customer.

Are you sure all those problems are related with mouse firmware and Win7 64-bit? So it means they might actually get rid of those problems when they upgrade drivers to work well with 64-bit system and release firmware upgrade?
Just want to add - If someone has issue with Lachesis 5600 (and maybe other) that it sometimes turns off at will and you need to replug it, just fuck those drivers. Set up your settings and after this uninstall them. This causes trouble.

@Climrockz No, if your desk doesn't work with the mouse, you have a shitty desk, period. Get a mouse pad, it costs 5 bucks. The imperator is far, far nicer than my logitech g500 or the other myriad ones I've played with. Logitech makes solid mice, but they are all function, no design or form. Every Razer product I've had works fine, without exception. People have shitty first impressions, and don't understand what a real review means.
@Iololz I've had a a huge email conversation with someone from the razer team who told me that they still got driver issues with the left handed deathadder....that mouse now exists for 2 years, they are still working on it, if you dont believe me or if you want more details about it just pm me your mail, i can sent you the whole thing. i wish i didn't believe these comments. the z-axis bug is so bad, even tilting the mouse a little bit will make the cursor jump unpredictably. i've given the mouse 3 sessions of a few hours of osu but i can't get comfortable with it. i agree with the uploader - scroll wheel is perfect, shape is nice, it looks great and feels good. too bad the sensor sucks.

@BagetaMovies I've gotten the same problem as you. My G500 keeps clicking twice with no end in sight. I then bought a new G500, which was defective. I then again bought a new G500, which again proved to be defective :/... A whole lot of bad luck. I now am thinking of giving up on Logitech.
weird. The G500 is by far my favorite mouse with the least amount of problems. I would rather have an optical, but it very rarely skipps. I've had the same problem that bugmewhen has... it's not terrible, but it's not something that a top of the line mouse should have. Plus the buttons are poor and break easily and fixing them is a hassle.
What the Razer 4G Laser does is it TURNS OFF the Laser when the mouse is lifted at a certain height and turns it back on once you bring it back down, hence it quick snaps. Go to the Razer Imperator settings, then turn off surface calibration. Voila.
Mine did the same thing, then the laser itself stopped working completely. After 2 weeks of dealing with their atrocious customer service, I finally managed to contact someone who said they would make a "one time exception" and allow me to return my broken mouse with no receipt. Bottom line- don't buy a razer if you think it's going to ever break

I am sure this has been stated but it is the laser inside the mouse. There was a huge batch of Imperator's with faulty lasers. That is why they released the "Imperator 2012." Same mouse but with non-faulty lasers.
All Razer products are overpriced pieces of shit, though. They appeal to gamers who think they can buy skill.
I have tried a ton of different Mice (within the past I have tried over 23 Mice from Steelseries, Roccat, Razer, Logitech, Raptor and cherry) and Mouse Pads . The best for me was the Deathadder (and Abyssus) No Filters , no negative or positive Acceleration , No Prediction and a max tracking Speed for Flick Shots and such paired with the goliathus or Qck+ Mouse Pad (or alugraphics)! Deathadder all the way, i will NEVER buy another Mouse again i will just buy the Deathadder over and over again!
@nostalgiaholic777 You can with a button located under the mouse but only the presets you can only change those once you've installed the drivers. But why wouldn't you install the drivers? If you search a good mouse without the need of having drivers installed no prediction or any acceleration at all i would go for the Abyssus .

I have never tested the new 4g Imperator(only the 3.5g ) since i am so satisfied with the Deathadder. A friend of mine has the new 4g Imperator and they fixed all issues including the lift off issue by adding an additional optical sensor, also the surface feels a lot nicer than the old one(still need to install drivers with the new Imperator though)!

@nostalgiaholic777 Yes you can change between the profiles but you can't customize/change them without having the drivers installed. About the SS Sensei i have to say it looks pretty promising but i would never buy any kind of hardware just released because they always have some sort of problems when they first come out which they will fix in the later versions. If i were you i'd just buy the microsoft explorer 3.0 for 26bucks and you can buy another higher priced mouse later when you decided!

What about the disconnecting issue? My Imperator randomly disconnects, yet the logo keeps pulsating & middle mouse stays lid. Anyone got a solution for that? I've searched for an hour, and didn't get an answer :( Also even with new Firmware which removes the lift off z axis it still feels weird the way it tracks! Thoughts?
@xzystence the random disconnects is a hardware issue. You may need to return/exchange the mouse. After 2 years of use, my deathadder is now experiencing random discconects as well.
@Chinomareno I couldn't agree with you any more. Couple months back I got my hands on the imperator, and it lasted for a day before crapping out. Surprisingly, my deathadder lasted 2 years before failing. RAZERS aren't made to last.
Don't buy this mouse, it randomly locks up and you have to unplug it and plug it back in. Using the latest firmware 1.16 at this time. In addition whenever you pick up the mouse the cursor jumps down and to the right a bit... This supposedly isn't an issue with the other Razer mice but this one... Sucks the dong.

@mundane1 the 4g version of the imperator is no different, it locks up too even with all the firmware updates. eventually the mouse will fail with random disconnects, even to the point that you have to reboot the system to get the mouse working again. razer's are not worth the investment
I bought a razer imperator, and i got the same problem, and i was like, WTF!. The problem is not with your computer or with the razer Imperator. The problem is.. your mousepad! i had a steelseries S&S and a 4HD, and i had all that problems, and i though.. what if.. its the pad? tryed to play on the table and guess what.. that lift up problem was gone.
So, i bought a new pad from razer, and im happy. cheers
play at a minimum dpi, and play on a hard mat, or you will lose big time with laser mice. when you get the deathadder, play on 1800 dpi with 3/11 in windows with enhance pointer precision turned off, and play with a deathadder on a soft black mat such as the qck+ or the goliathus.
Pay for imperator is like intellectual masturbation i test her in intensive partie and i prefere widely my modest logitech optic rx250 and she costs 10 buck onlyl but the imperator is a good mouse but not good for the fps because she's too big for hand and she's palmgrip i prefer fingertips mouse like my modest logitech rx 250 im a godlike with her :D

That's not the only problem, the imperator I had kept disconnecting and reconnecting on its own during a game. Finally returned it and exchanged it for a logitech g700. Best mouse I have owned.
I'm using win7 64-bit and have the same issues with my razer imperator. I upgraded everything to the latests versions, mouse got quite better but still result isn't satisfying enough... and yes i'm playing on a low DPI and large mousepad... I'm going to buy roccat kone+ now... Such a waste of money, razer go to hell!

Do any other razer mouses have this issue specifically the naga epic/ molten edition picking up one of them soon but im debating whether the extra money is even worth it for the epic vs the special edition

I had mine for about a month, until it stopped working. but its FUNNY how if i keep it plugged in, the mouse buttons work, and even ONCE IN A WHILE the mouse will turn on again. all the lights and sensor ill begin working again. I got a video on my youtube showing how its WORKING but is actually "BROKEN"

I hate to tell you this, but the problem is Razer. I owned the head phones and sound car from razer and it wouldn't work with Windows 7. It still won't work because Razer is too lazy to actually keep up with technology. My Death Adder died in a firmware update and they won't fix it unless I have the receipt (it was a gift from about 7 months ago)Fuck Razer. Go with Logitech. I got a G500 mouse, after 5 months the middle mouse wheel wouldn't click so no questions asked they mailed me a new one.
Does your mouse take a long time to become responsive when starting windows? My mouse has never worked immediately at the login screen, and once I log in and start up windows, the mouse wont work until almost everything has loaded in windows.
@NerdGasims i think is the driver problem ? before the driver started , the mouse is set at default setting from the control panel , you might want to set the sensitivity in the control panel section . my personal guessing .l
I propose that it is what tomgreen said. I use an Imperator on Win 7 64 bit and I don't have any problems. The lift off thing is simply an issue with how far the laser touches down so that's not fixable through software. I propose you exchange for a new one or go with a death adder or lachesis
@xSTUDDLYNiPPL3Z You obviously just aren't noticing the problem with the tech that's inside this mouse and the mamba. Both mice suffer from these issues. Both mice ran fine on my XP machine, but flawed on my Win7x64 machine and other Win7x64 machine I tried it with.

You clearly got a defective imperator. The z-axis issue is a known universal problem and I knew of it within the first week of purchase. And yet I barely notice it, and I am the definition of a low sens gamer. YMMV. But in 5 months the mouse has not shut down from a quick swipe, that's an issue with yours. What it will do is randomly stop communicating with the computer, about once a week and losing frequency with time, but that's been an issue with any mouse I use.

i know that they are a big company but i have noticed they have been lacking in quality control lately. i have the naga been using it for about 10 months now and about 5 weeks ago i started getting unintentional double right clicks. don't know if it me or the mouse itself but can be annoying at times hope they get their stuff together because if a great looking item doesn't work might as well be a big steamy pile.

I have tried a ton of different Mice (within the past I have tried over 23 Mice from Steelseries, Roccat, Razer, Logitech, Raptor and cherry) and Mouse Pads . The best for me was the Deathadder (and Abyssus) No Filters , no negative or positive Acceleration , No Prediction and a max tracking Speed for Flick Shots and such paired with the goliathus or Qck+ Mouse Pad (or alugraphics)! Deathadder all the way, i will NEVER buy another Mouse again i will just buy the Deathadder over and over again!

@nostalgiaholic777 You can with a button located under the mouse but only the presets you can only change those once you've installed the drivers. But why wouldn't you install the drivers? If you search a good mouse without the need of having drivers installed no prediction or any acceleration at all i would go for the Abyssus .

@nostalgiaholic777 Yes the Abyssus is smaller then most mice but really like it even though i like to palm my mouse. I have never tested the new 4g Imperator(only the 3.5g ) since i am so satisfied with the Deathadder. A friend of mine has the new 4g Imperator and they fixed all issues including the lift off issue by adding an additional optical sensor, also the surface feels a lot nicer than the old one(still need to install drivers with the new Imperator though)!

@nostalgiaholic777 Yes you can change between the profiles but you can't customize/change them without having the drivers installed. About the SS Sensei i have to say it looks pretty promising but i would never buy any kind of hardware just released because they always have some sort of problems when they first come out which they will fix in the later versions. If i were you i'd just buy the microsoft explorer 3.0 for 26bucks and you can buy another higher priced mouse later when you decided!

What about the disconnecting issue? My Imperator randomly disconnects, yet the logo keeps pulsating & middle mouse stays lid. Anyone got a solution for that? I've searched for an hour, and didn't get an answer :( Also even with new Firmware which removes the lift off z axis it still feels weird the way it tracks! Thoughts?

@xzystence the random disconnects is a hardware issue. You may need to return/exchange the mouse. After 2 years of use, my deathadder is now experiencing random discconects as well.

Don't buy this mouse, it randomly locks up and you have to unplug it and plug it back in. Using the latest firmware 1.16 at this time. In addition whenever you pick up the mouse the cursor jumps down and to the right a bit... This supposedly isn't an issue with the other Razer mice but this one... Sucks the dong.

@mundane1 the 4g version of the imperator is no different, it locks up too even with all the firmware updates. eventually the mouse will fail with random disconnects, even to the point that you have to reboot the system to get the mouse working again. razer's are not worth the investment

I bought a razer imperator, and i got the same problem, and i was like, WTF!. The problem is not with your computer or with the razer Imperator. The problem is.. your mousepad! i had a steelseries S&S and a 4HD, and i had all that problems, and i though.. what if.. its the pad? tryed to play on the table and guess what.. that lift up problem was gone.
So, i bought a new pad from razer, and im happy. cheers

play at a minimum dpi, and play on a hard mat, or you will lose big time with laser mice. when you get the deathadder, play on 1800 dpi with 3/11 in windows with enhance pointer precision turned off, and play with a deathadder on a soft black mat such as the qck+ or the goliathus.

That's not the only problem, the imperator I had kept disconnecting and reconnecting on its own during a game. Finally returned it and exchanged it for a logitech g700. Best mouse I have owned.

I'm using win7 64-bit and have the same issues with my razer imperator. I upgraded everything to the latests versions, mouse got quite better but still result isn't satisfying enough... and yes i'm playing on a low DPI and large mousepad... I'm going to buy roccat kone+ now... Such a waste of money, razer go to hell!

I agree with you. I had the same issues, the middle mouse button wouldn't even work - that part of it was faulty. However, after using this mouse I got a refund and I've ordered the Cyborg RAT 7 - hopefully I'll get a better result.

I had mine for about a month, until it stopped working. but its FUNNY how if i keep it plugged in, the mouse buttons work, and even ONCE IN A WHILE the mouse will turn on again. all the lights and sensor ill begin working again. I got a video on my youtube showing how its WORKING but is actually "BROKEN"

"Any mouse will cause the cursor to move when you lift it off the mouse pad. The Mamba does it in a more predictable fashion, always down and to the right. With higher DPI setting you will notice the affect more, but of course the higher the setting the less likely you are to lift the mouse. You should be able to lessen the affect you are seeing by using a lower DPI setting."

I hate to tell you this, but the problem is Razer. I owned the head phones and sound car from razer and it wouldn't work with Windows 7. It still won't work because Razer is too lazy to actually keep up with technology. My Death Adder died in a firmware update and they won't fix it unless I have the receipt (it was a gift from about 7 months ago)Fuck Razer. Go with Logitech. I got a G500 mouse, after 5 months the middle mouse wheel wouldn't click so no questions asked they mailed me a new one.

I propose that it is what tomgreen said. I use an Imperator on Win 7 64 bit and I don't have any problems. The lift off thing is simply an issue with how far the laser touches down so that's not fixable through software. I propose you exchange for a new one or go with a death adder or lachesis

You clearly got a defective imperator. The z-axis issue is a known universal problem and I knew of it within the first week of purchase. And yet I barely notice it, and I am the definition of a low sens gamer. YMMV. But in 5 months the mouse has not shut down from a quick swipe, that's an issue with yours. What it will do is randomly stop communicating with the computer, about once a week and losing frequency with time, but that's been an issue with any mouse I use.

i know that they are a big company but i have noticed they have been lacking in quality control lately. i have the naga been using it for about 10 months now and about 5 weeks ago i started getting unintentional double right clicks. don't know if it me or the mouse itself but can be annoying at times hope they get their stuff together because if a great looking item doesn't work might as well be a big steamy pile.
